Jeli, very recently, has started loosing pigment on her bottom lip. Her lips are black and I noticed a little pink pin prick about 3 weeks ago. Now it is about the size of a pea. I just took her to the vet to have it checked out and the vet says as long as it is not crusty or appear to have any irritation or lesion, it is simply a cosmetic depigmentation and nothing to worry about. There is no treatment to stop or reverse it. This morning I noticed a small pink dot on her nose, so I'm guessing she will also loose pigment on her beautiful black nose. Has anybody else had this happen? Despite my vet saying it is simply cosmetic, I'm still concerned it could be more serious or treatable. I might try to get a second opinion, but I thought I'd ask here first. There is so much experience out there, someone is bound to have run across this. Thanks in advance for any responses.

I think it's genetic. My son's white golden retriever, who has mostly black skin, black lips, black nose, and black eyeliner, loses pigmentation in the winter especially. Gets darker in the summer, but as he's grown older, the pink spots stay pink.
Think of it is character. Very cute character. It's not harmful.
I don't know if this applies to Corgis but, in Northern breeds, it is quite common for dogs to lose pigmentation on the nose during the Winter months and it is called "snow nose". If you google it, you'll see pictures. Loss of pigment on lips and eye rims are not part of the snow nose pattern.
My lil Corgi girl was loosing color also. Found out she has LUPUS :( Been treating her now for over 8 years . Dermatological Lupus.
No !Her nose started turning pink ,then we sent her to the dermatologist did a biopsy and came back she has Lupus. Treated her with Atopica for a few years then I decided to treat her holistically. Its been 7 years now, shes had scabby nose turns red,she had lesions after about 1 year after diagnosis. She still has flair ups and her lil nose is very sensitive so I keep her out of the sun, regular visits to vet and Dermatologist. Her lil nose has deteriorated some but we have her on Omegas ! helps a bit .
