wheelchairs

I've taken Alie to outside by a stroller. She's not an active corgi for her life so she seems to be ok riding on it. But sometimes she tries to run after other dogs in a dog park but she couldn't. I feel so bad to see her like that. I'm again researching wheelchair for her. I just applied at CorgiAid if she can get it thru them. Otherwise, I need to order one. Any suggestion? I like walking' wheels but very pricy...K9 Carts is my second choice... Alie is 12yrs old, weigh only 20 lb, never over 20lb. If you know anything about wheelchair for corgis, lemme know!!!

I don't have any experience with dog wheelchairs, but I do wish you and Allie the very best as you move forward to get her one. I hope it works for her. If you need help with the costs, maybe set up a Go Fund Me account. I am not sure how to do that, but if you put a link up here, I would want to make a small donation for her.

We got ours from Doggon Wheels. I was very happy with the quality and service. The fitting measurements were a bit cumbersome, but it meant we didn't really have to adjust anything when we got it. It took about a week from when we ordered to delivery and was about $350.

Our rehab vet says the two most-recommended chairs by clients are Doggon and Eddie's Wheels. Eddies has a solid "saddle" while Doggon has a neoprene one that is removable and doubles as a rear support harness for walking. That, plus the return/ partial refund policy, is what made us choose Doggon over Eddie's.

I will need to update my post. Maddie is slow in getting used to it. My understanding is if your dog still has some use of the hind end, they can be reluctant to use it because they can still drag themselves around. When they can't really walk anymore is when they are more likely to see the benefit and use it. After 5 days and about 8 attempts at using it, Madison still looks at us like she's never seen it before when we put her in it and it takes a tremendous amount of creative coaxing to get her to move. Once she starts moving she goes pretty well (and will even run full-speed), but she still seems a bit unsure to get started..

If funds are limited, it would be nice if you could get a used one or try one first to see if Alie likes it. If she's not active, she might not be terribly motivated to try it. Also, I would be terribly afraid to use it a the dog park. Jack is just fine with the wheels and has met another wheeled dog before (a pug) but some dogs are terrified of the contraption and scared dogs sometimes attack.
