Ever tried giving your corgi a food, and he/she won't eat it? I grew up around dogs all my life that ate anything they could fit their mouth around, but when Sofi came into my life, I came to realize that she has some "nu-uh's" for her taste.

Things Sofi wont' eat:

Jello
Soda pop
Iceberg lettuce (but romaine is okay)
Green pepper
Pepto bismol (my vet told me to give it to her when she was sick... man does she hate it)

Things I'm surprised she DOES eat:

Raw onions!!
Jalapeno peppers!!
Banana peppers
Apples
Grapes (I know they are bad for her... but I fed her a couple once to see if she'd eat them)

What stuff does YOUR corgi hate to eat?

Bubba won't eat broccoli or anything green other than green beans...spits it out by his bowl. Anything else is free game. I don't understand this "people food" thing. Are potatoes, carrots, apples and cottage cheese not people food and found in good kibble? How about peanut butter? These are not people food, it's real food and good for them. I"m not talking about greasy french fries or hamburgers smotheres in grease also or the foregoing mentioning of toxic foods we can ingest that's bad or fatal to dogs but, other "people food" is just as good for them as it is us. How about steak or beef?
I haven't found anything that Gibson will not eat...maybe rocks or his own poop??
I thought it was a hijack too. I bet must of this comes from something being dropped on the floor and the ensuing hilarity when your corgi turns his nose up at it. Not that people are sitting in front of the fridge and say to themselves Gee I know grapes are bad for my corgi but lets give him one anyway.
Who said that? The OP. One person, who acknowledged that they knew the risks.
Even so, it's a hijack. One could, politely, say that they are one of the things that dogs shouldn't eat and link to another thread about what dogs should not eat instead of writing a dissertation in an irrelevant topic. Not only is that disruptive to the thread when you could do what I just explained to the same effect, but it also craps up the Search function. If there is one or two topics ABOUT it, then when you search POISON or GRAPES on the forum page, it will come up with a topic about what is poison to dogs. If you harp on it on OFF TOPIC threads then when you search it, people have to muddle through a thousand other things to get to critical information.
I'm sure no one is intending to make it difficult to find that information on the website, but you kind of are.
It's not an irrelevant topic it's irrelevant to THIS topic, but since it's already been said we can just damage control and not talk about it any more in THIS topic.
Maybe you could make ANOTHER topic that has like, "Foods that are Poison to Furkids!" in the title and talk about poison foods over there. In that topic. Where it can be searched for.
And the search function is here http://www.mycorgi.com/forum . Which is where someone who might be looking for what foods are poison might go look for that information if they needed to know. Important information is useful when it is easily accessible when needed, like in it's own topic.
There is no "food" out there that Theo won't eat. Things like poop and rocks he won't eat, but that's not really food anyway, so I don't count it. :p Theo will pretty much eat anything edible. He even tries to lick up his eye crusties after I pull them off his eyes every morning.
Ok people.... take a deep breath, this is just the internet :) I can see where y'all are coming from and all have valid points.

Now, Sarah started a thread and it's suppose to be fun and let other owners to share their experience. It is okay to state a point, then link it back to other appropriate thread for those who wish to read more on that topic. It is totally not cool to "hijack" someone's thread.

So lets play nice and be respectful, we're known to be the most friendly and helpful crowd, so lets keep up with our reputation. Sorry Sarah, it is my fault for not jumping in earlier, please accept my apology.
Maybe we can just keep this thread about non-toxic foods only? It is an interesting topic without that element present. :)
