Bubba is constantly hungry it seems. Even after he finishes his evening meal, he comes over to me, sit's at my feet and watches me eat hoping for a handout. If I open a bag of chips, he hears the bag crinking and his ears stand up in anticipation of a few for himself. I can get a bowl of ice cream, sit down on the couch(where he usually is) and he's Johnny on the spot to see what I have. It''s like, "why are you having a snack and I'm not?" Regardless if I give him a couple treat, he'll always come back for more.

I've wondered if I'm giving him enough food or not to warrant this behavior. He gets 1/3rd cup of kibble twice a day. Morning meals I'll include a tablespoon of low fat organic yogurt with his kibble. Evening meals will consist of the same amouont of kibble with a spoonful of EVO 95% beef, half a dozen green beans, maybe a few pieces of chicken and a teaspoon of the Missing Link Plus. He still seems to want more!! I tried 1/2 cup twice a day when I first got him but due to his inactivity, I decided to cut back to 1/3rd cup as he was gaining some weight.

I think most corgis will always act like they are starving. If he was gaining weight I'd say you were right to cut back his food. Maybe add some green beans to his meals to make him feel fuller w/o the extra calories :)
Foxi has no bottom to her stomach, she does the same thing, she eats her food and than sits by our feet looking at us like she hasnt had a bite in days!!! she is always waiting for that handout or something to drop on the floor!!! i think corgi's normally have healthy appetites. And I dont think its uncommon for them to be little beggers as i know Foxi has mastered that pretty good!! I even find it hard to resist that look she gives me when i'm eating, I want to give her nibbles but I limit that just because of the risk of her becoming over weight. I think your feedings are fine. I just think Bubba has a normal corgi appetite!!
It's rather funny in a way. He'll sit on the floor and make eye contact with his ears twitching back and forth watching me eat with those lpretty brown eyes but, if he's on the couch beside me and I'm munching on Doritos he never looks at me but follows intently with his eyes every move hand makes knowing that at any moment I'm going to reach in that bag and give him one...what chow hounds they are!!
LOL! Bubba acts just like my Theo. Theo will scarf down his food, come over to me to see if I'll give him any more, and when he decides that's all he's getting, he goes back to lick his bowl for a few minutes. I think that's just a Corgi thing. I had a friend dog sitting for a few hours one time and he called me saying "I don't think he was fed. He seems hungry." I just laughed. How does a Corgi seem hungry vs. not? They always act like they haven't been fed for a week!

If you're concerned about the amount you feed Bubba, just feel his ribs. If you can count them, he's too skinny and you should increase his food to maybe 1/2 cup twice a day. If you can feel them, but not count the individual ribs, then he's just right. :) How old is Bubba? I think Theo just went through some kind of a growth spurt because all of a sudden he got really skinny and I just upped his food intake. If Bubba is young, it's probably something you should keep a constant eye on. :)
Let me put it this way, Bubba could stand to loose a few pounds but, he's a rather large Corgis and has great hip muscles(all that jumping on the couch). He just turned four years old back in August. He does the same thing Theo does...looks for a handout and when he sees it's not coming, he'll go back to an empty bowl and see if he can lick the stainless steel off.
Haha! Sounds like ours are two peas in a pod. Theo was loving all the family at my house for Thanksgiving. They all had the words "sucker" stamped to their forehead by the end of the trip.
SIdney does that too. He'll stare at us and actually DROOL. It's so funny to see.
Sid gets about 1/3 plus a little something added (cottage cheese, chicken or some canned Merrick) twice a day.
Max drools too. He gets 1/2 cup twicw a day with some wet puppy food or beef gravy stuff or green beans cuz all his middle teeth are gone. Let us have a snack and he thinks he needs it too. I usually give him a treat.
I don't know if anyone saw this or not but this looks like the result of being a bit overfed and way too many treats.

Yep, it's one of many many sad stories. :(
Sounds like a normal corgi to me....always hungry. Duncan is still overweight, trying to get him to lose the weight. Not getting as much help from my husband. He almost always gives in to both of the dogs.

The first corgi I had many years ago, was the complete opposite. In eating and personality. She was a laid back, quiet, well behaved, unhyper corgi. I would put out a cup of food a day in the morning and she would nibble all day long. Never was into snacking, but then again, I never really had treats for her except for dog biscuits Those she would take back to her bed for later.
Bubba just knows he can get a treat from you by acting that he's hungry. Know your corgi's daily maintenance cals (plus/minus activity) and stick to it. Factor in treats for daily training. Make your corgi sit AWAY from you while you are eating (and cooking).

Tod is almost 25 pounds. His daily caloric intake is around 450 cals. ( 200 cals per meals + a few liver treats for training).

Oh and your dog's evening meal sounds very tasty:))))
