Welcome to puppyhood :) This one is a must read. One of things that I found important is start handling the feet now, often flip optimus on his back and let him get use to the tools, introduce him to water at the right temperature, always associate good behavior with positive reinforcement. Shop around for a good vet :) You should find most answers in the forum search box. Your next 15 years are gonna change, knowing that you're not alone and we're here for ya!

Yeah, there's a couple things I should probably hide in the closet until I know he's not gonna chew through them. The main thing I'm worried about is him getting behind my TV and chewing the wires to my sound system and video games. We'll just have to keep a close eye on him. Everything I've read just says to stay patient as they're learning their potty training. I also planned to put his crate next to the bed so we can put our fingers down if he starts whining.

First, congratulations on your new baby!

The first night or two will be a bit difficult, especially if you crate him to sleep. When Matt and I brought Domino home we had to sleep on the floor with our fingers in the door of her kennel so she wouldn't feel alone because if not she was whining non-stop.

Put things you don't want chewed or peed on on surfaces he can't reach.

The first few weeks will definitely be a bit of a test of patience as far as potty training but the playfulness and the curiosity will outweigh the stress of a new puppy.
