Hey everybody, it is a sad day for me cause Superstar is very sick...she has a lot of diarrhea and only vomited twice, but she is not feeling herself. she doesnt wanna play or nothing....My vet is closed and I have to work today, and I dont know how to take care of her. I gave her steamed rice, and we dont have chicken now, but she doesnt want to eat it. I have been giving her time to have her tummy settled, but no food into her stomach yet. Are there any alternatives that I should take to make her feel better? And I made a major oops! i gave her a cooked bone...uuuyyy! I need a spank:(((((

Oh, poor little baby! She looks so sad.

You are not to blame, these things happen. Just try to make sure she gets some fluid, like HR said. When you can get some chicken, boil it and add it to the rice. Please let us know how she does. My heart is sad for the poor little dear.
If she's still acting like that tomorrow....call your vets emergency service or an emergency clinic. 24 hrs is normal......longer than that, it needs to be checked out. Who knows what it could be! Praying she's back to her usual self very soon.
Poor Superstar. I would definitely call an emergency vet, I had to bring Dax in 3 days after I got him for coccidia. :( poor guy, he was having the same symptoms as poor Superstar. I hope she feels better soon!
A few things to look for would be the color of her gums. They should be a bright pink. Also a good idea to take her temperature. Dogs usually run about 101. If her gums do not have good color and/or her temp is over 102 I would get to the emergency room immediately. Not sure when you gave her the bone but withholdfing food for 24 hours is a good idea. Make sure she has fresh water on hand at all times. As I am sure you know cooked bones can easily splinter and cause great issue in the digestive tract. It may also be that she has a case of gastritis. Please monitor her closely. Sending healing prayers you way.
Healing kisses from Nala & Cosmo!!!
Prayers for healing from The Corgi Clan. If Superstar is still not feeling well, you should get to an emergency vet. A cooked bone can lodge in a tummy or intestines pretty quickly--or splinter and cause all sorts of problems. Better to be safe. Keep us posted, okay?
Aww..I was at work when I looked at this the first time and couldn't see the picture. She looks so pitiful! I sure hope she feels better, a face like that should never look so sad. :(
Poor baby Superstar, she looks so sad. Bertie has twice has severe gastritis and it is scary. But he fully recovered! As everyone has said, your main issue is (apart from the bone fragment issue) is keeping her hydrated. If her gums are pale and sticky to the touch, you should go to the emergency vet. At the very least, they can inject a bolus of fluids under her skin to be absorbed slowly if she isn't drinking (and if you want to wait to see your regular vet). Your regular vet may want to keep her on an IV of fluids for 24 hours or so, if she's not drinking at all (and they'll check for parasites, etc.). She can skip food for a day or two not be too badly off, but fluids are key, esp. if she's vomiting/pooping a lot of fluid out. Poor Bertie -- he got so dehydrated over night that when he tried to smile at me, his lips stuck to his teeth in the morning (needless to say, we were in the vet's office about 30 seconds later). And we never figured out what caused the problems, after ruling out parasites, obstructions, and other possibilities -- a virus, something he stuck his nose into in the woods? So don't beat yourself up, just give her hugs and fluids. Please let us know how she is, we are visualizing her all peppy and happy and playful again.
Best thing is to take her to an emergency vet now.

In a prior post, you mentioned that you changed her diet. Did you gradually introduce the new food over several weeks such as 75% old + 25% new, then 50% old + 50 % new then 25% old + 75% new ? Or did you go 100% new food all at once? Corgis can be very sensitive to diet changes. Your dog could have developed gastritis, which can be very serious if your corgi cannot keep anything down. She could get severely dehydrated, lose valuable electrolytes and, while I don't want to be melodramatic, she could die. My corgi was about 12 weeks old when I switched him to a new dog food without doing a gradual mix. I ended up having to go the emergency vet because he would not keep anything down, not even water. He would drink the water, but he would throw it up about 5 - 10 minutes later. He got very listless and didn't want to move. For a puppy, it's very serious. The emergency vet told me that had i not brought him in, he could have died.

You said she has been throwing up. Has she been able to drink fluids? Has she been able to keep anything down? If she drinks water and then throws it back up, that is a bad sign and you need to get her to the vet immediately. The more she throws up, the more deyhdrated she gets. If she is able to keep fluids down without throwing up, see if you can give her some pedialyte so that she can get some valuable electrlytes. Keep with the bland rice/chicken diet (remember, no spices or seasonings at all on the chicken or rice, it needs to be plain). After the bland diet, go back to the old food. If you want to switch to a new food, introduce it gradually.

Basically, gastritis is a very very very bad case of gas. She'll have so much gas in her system that she can't keep anything down and it can be painful. If you've ever had a bad case of gas, then you know had painful it can be. She's go so much gas in her stomach and her intestines that nothing can get through. I would get her to an emergency vet. If you really cannot get to an emergency vet, try to get some mylicon, which are infant gas droplets.

Good luck.
Poor little sweetheat! I hope she gets better soon...it's so sad when our babies are sick.
Please take her to the vet she looks so sad!!
How is Superstar doing? Keep us posted. Hope today she is her usual self.
