A few more puppy questions, regarding Milo, our 9-week old Pembroke.
Things have been going remarkably well lately, as he is starting to lighten up on the biting and paper training is moving along faster than I ever would have imagined. But here's my first question: what's up with his breath? He's partially on Nature's Recipe Puppy and partially on his original dog food, which was called Black Gold. I never heard of it, so we're trying to wean him off it slowly. I know dogs typically do not have good breath, dog breath doesn't bother me really. But I'm curious to find out if there is something else there because, quite honestly, his breath smells like stale urine. I have never had a dog whose breath smelled that way. I mean when he licks my hands I have to go wash them because of how it makes them smell. Also, is flatulence something common among Corgis, or will he grow out of that (fingers crossed)?
Next question is going to be asked to the vet as well, but I thought I'd look for tips here first. He chews obsessively at his hind legs, specifically at the inside of the knee. More on his right than his left, but still he chews hard enough he actually made himself whimper last night. Normally I know you don't really bother a dog if they have an itch, but even to the point where he starts hurting himself?
Thanks in advance, everyone.
