So, I picked up Hannah on Saturday. She did great in the car. Wasn't interested in sleeping, but she was fairly content. She slept in her crate wonderfully the first night. Woke me up in the morning to potty. However, yesterday was a different story.

I took her out every hour, but she either just wants to sit at my feet and stare at me or play. She did go a couple times, but she also had a few accidents in the house. I treat each time she does her business outside, but she doesn't seem to give me any signs when she does need to go. She pooed in the house today as well. She hasn't been too interested in eating, either. Last night was a struggle to get her settled in her crate for bed. I ended up sitting by her until she got sleepy again. I'd put her in there, and she'd bark and bark. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong! She also wants to bite on me all the time, despite all the toys she has to play with and chew on.

As far as everything else goes, she's doing pretty well. She's already learning to sit, and she's doing pretty good with leash training. She doesn't mind my cats, and overall, she's really fun to have around. I'm just getting so frustrated with the bad behavior. Any suggestions?

If you just picked her up meaning that she is 8-10 weeks old then this is exactly what you should have been expecting. She is a puppy after all. Try setting up a small fenced in area outside for her to go potty in so that when you put her in it she understands that is what she is there for. She won't really be giving you any signs that she is about to go in doors other than when she stops moving which is why you have to always watch them.

Remember, if she is 8-10 weeks old then this isn't bad behavior, it's puppy behavior.
She is actually 4 months old already. I forgot to add that! The breeder did say that she was using a doggy door at their house to go potty, but that isn't an option here, unfortunately.
She will be potty trained by 9 months - 1 year, that is when they physically able to hold and fully developed. Check out the FAQ section, follow it and set a good schedule to follow, you pup will pick it up in no time.
Thanks!
I think she is probably just a little disoriented by the change in homes. If she had a doggie door before she now has to learn a new habit. Dogs are not born knowing how to speak Human so it is up to us to teach them. I would go back to step one as if she is an 8-10 week old puppy. Taking her out after she drinks and eats and every hour or so in between so she doesn't have a chance to go inside. Set her up to succeed! Keep treating her and if you have to leave her put her in the crate. As she is 4 months old she will likely catch on quicker than an 8-10 weeks and will be able to hold it longer once trained.

As for the food, it might also take a few days for her to adjust before she feel comfy eating. She won't starve herself. Just keep trying and maybe adding a spoonful of yogurt or piece of boiled meat to entice her a bit.

Also, from experience try to stop the hand nipping early on. We knew the cuteness of it would end and didn't heed the warning and regretted it. however, thankfully we have trained Monty not to do it (though he falls off the wagon once or twice). To stop it, when she goes for your hand pull it away, use your correction word/sound, stand up and ignore her for 30 seconds or more. Play again (with a toy) and if she goes for your hand again repeat the stand and ignore bit. Eventually she will learn not to nip...
Good luck and pick up some great training books like those by Pat McConnell or Pat Miller. It is also fun to go to a training class to bond with your puppy and have a source to ask training questions. Good luck!
Thanks for the reply. I've been taking her out at least every hour unless she's in her crate. It's still kind of hit and miss, but when she does have an accident, it seems like it's always near the door, so maybe she's slowly catching on. She's also been eating better. Doesn't seem interested in eating during the morning hours, though. Making progress, though, overall!
She's a puppy that's what puppies do. She probably just needs some time to adjust. You've already gotten some good advise about the potty and the biting so I won't go there as that is the same thing I would have said. As for the sleeping in the kennel at night have you tried covering the kennel with a blanket? I had to do that with Chesney. The first night I forgot to and she whined and cried most of the night until I put the blanket over it and then she quieted down and I haven't had a problem with her keeping me up at night once since then.

Good luck.
I took your suggestion and covered her crate. WONDERFUL! Sometimes she'll still bark a few times when I put her in there, but she quiets down much, much faster now. She didn't even make a fuss at all when we went to bed last night!
I highly recommend you read both the books linked in my blog post here. Both are useful and give you good tools to deal with puppy behavior.
Thanks! There's a lot of info there!
Also, in case you don't know already, they should go out immediately after waking up from a nap. That's something we learned early on :p Their sleepy little heads can't control their bladder THAT long.
Yeah, that's usually the ONLY time I can guarantee that she'll go is right after waking up! lol
