I don't know if it's his age, or just him, but Atlas is absolutely crazy. I've never seen a dog with his "intensity", everything he does is like normal dog behavior x100.
Is this just a corgi thing?

Ross, can you explain a little more?
Corgis are crazy (like a fox) little dogs, but I don't know if I would call SIdney 100% insane. He does have his moments though.
It spills into everything he does. Sometimes to tire him out I will tell him to run up and down their stairs, which he does, although he needs to be told each time "go up the stairs", "go down the stairs". He cries in excitement when he's doing anything remotely fun: waiting for me to throw the ball, waiting for me to tell him to jump from the couch to the futon during "corgi olympics".
He sounds like a vicious monster when I play with him, although his bite wouldn't even be able to dent a tomato.
Believe me I am not complaining, I asbolutely love how crazy he is, I'm a high energy person so he fits me well. It's very refreshing to know that there will always be someone who's incredibly excited to see you at the end of the day.
Gizmo sounds like Atlas, well behaved but a crazy dog.
Ein was up to the last couple of months. He'll be 2 in april and hes just recently settled down a LOT. I think I've only had him tired completely out once.
Ollie is insane. Most definitely. Once he finally stopped actually biting us, he started keeping his mouth poen almost all the time just hoping something will enter and thus be chewed to bits. He never seems to relax, unless it's the end of a long saturday. My wife often tries to cuddle with him...ha ha...no. Never. He'll sit and lie down on command, no problem. But only for a few seconds. The dude will not be still. Ever.

So, yes. My dog is also insane.
Atlas will actually cuddle with us, but that is only after a very long exhausting day. But blink too loudly or do anything remotely distracting and he's awake and crazy again.
Our dogs are crazy, too.
Gwynnie insists that she is Queen Elizabeth's dog, kidnapped from Buckingham Palace as a puppy.
Al goes around talking to himself, claiming to channel a Druid warrior from ancient Wales.
Both of them believe that the faeries have put implants into their brains.
Both of them believe that they can control my mind by staring into my eyes.
Thats too funny John!! ROFL!!! : )
I second that! John, you are amazingly funny and I'm so glad you are part of mycorgi!
The problem is that now *I* suspect that the faeries have put an implant into my brain, and the dogs *can* control my mind by looking into my eyes.
How old is Atlas? Because my little girl was out of her mind 24/7 when she was just under a year till just over a year. There was no tiring her out! But now, she's over 2 years, about 2 years and 3 months and is totally "normal". Although she is still excitable, especially when you come home or wake up, lol! But she cuddles and takes long naps now like a regular energy dog, but she still is "crazy"! That's part of the corgi personality, they are crazy little joker foxes!

I just dealt with her energy by taking her out for long walks and hikes up in the mountains every afternoon or early morning and continue doing so now. :-)
Atlas is just over a year old. He gets an enormous amount of exercise. The only difference exercise makes is how cranky/obnoxious he is, he is just always ready to run around.
Only when I put a leash on him - he FLAILS! I realize some dogs pull or wander on their lease...mine acts like the kids in the mall whose mom is holding his hand as he screams and slings his body around.

The good news - we're working on it, he's only 8 weeks old and it took him two days to stop pretending that his collar was driving him insane.

The bad news - while we're working on it, people probably thing I'm abusing him...except when he stops and sits for a treat!
