I've been feeding Dax Wellness for a while now, and he's just not all that thrilled about it. I recently switched him to adult dog food, and he's still not really eating. He usually eats once a day (I feed him twice, he just doesn't eat), and he seems thin to me. He's healthy but when he lays down I can see his ribs poking out and it makes me cringe. He's a year old (today actually) and he weighs about 23.5 pounds, is that normal? I figured he'd be in the 25-27ish range at least by now, but he seems to have peaked. I actually think he's LOST a little weight. So I was thinking maybe he just doesn't like the food, so I might switch to Blue Buffalo, and I wanted to get some opinions on it and which one overall that you guys think is better.

Reese loves Blue Buffalo... we tried Wellness, but she didn't like it. It also made her breath smelly. We're a fan of their treat bars as well. =)
have you tried core? mine's much more enthusiastic about core than the 5 kind.
Corgis don't quite fill up until 2 years old, so give it sometime. If you do decide to switch, do it gradually so that his stomach can adjust in time.
My dog didn't like Wellness either. She wasn't too crazy about Blue Buffalo either, and it gave her bad stomach problems like terrible gas and diarrhea. I feed her Solid Gold Hundchen Flocken for puppies now, she loves it and hasn't had any problems so far :)
Hundchen Flocken sounds like the most ridiculous flavor ever conceived, haha.
My boys were on Wellness and they liked it until couple weeks ago. The local pet store was giving away samples of Lotus dog food and the boys seemed to like it so I now mix Wellness and Lotus. Its funny because they'll leave the Wellness pellets and just eat the Lotus pellets. I also bought a bag of Blue Buffalo so I plan to mix it up once in a while.
I posted this a while back and at first didn't get any input, but I've since then switched Dax to Blue Buffalo, and he LOVES it! When he was on Wellness, I would put his food down and he would just sniff it and walk away. Now he follows me around when I have his bowl in my hand and it takes him about 3 minutes to eat, he hasn't skipped a meal since we switched. He was also having accidents in the house, and I thought it was because he was eating too much all at once(I wasn't really measuring his food, I would just fill his bowl up, because he was so thin I didn't care if he ate a lot), so I cut back on his food a little and the accidents pretty much stopped. I did that about the same time I switched him though, so I'm not really sure what did it. But since he actually eats every meal now, he's probably eating about the same as he did before, just a little at a time instead of all at once. Anyway, thanks for the input!
My dogs love Blue Buffalo also, and it is great for them too.
Both Wellness and Blue Buffalo has worked for me. I prefer Blue Buffalo. Nala is also 1.5 yrs and she is only 23 pounds. When I go to Corgi Meetups she is probably the smallest corgi. : ( If you decide to switch buy a small bag and slowly start to mix it together, so his stomach get used to it.
Ours like Wellness (whitefish & sweet potatoes) enough that I use the kibble for treats. They get 50-50 kibble and raw meat. Maybe I'll try a different flavor or Blue Buffalo for variety.
But these are creatures that will eat ANYTHING.
I had him on the Wellness chicken for puppy, then I switched him to the lamb formula for adults and he still wouldn't eat. When I switched to BB, I went with the fish and sweet potato formula which I never tried the wellness version of. Maybe he would eat the wellness if I bought the fish recipe...
I recently switched Sadie (13 weeks) to the puppy version of Blue Buffalo and she loves it. I switched her to BB on Monday and it is only Friday and her coat already looks so shiny and way better than before. She does like it, and people have mentioned their dog didn't like eating the little blue circles in the food, but Sadie does enjoying eating those as well. The only thing I would say is that the actual food is a little big for a puppy, but your adult dog should be fine. Overall, I do recommend Blue Buffalo.
