Ok, first of all Einstein is obvious. The first time I saw a corgi is when we were living in Japan (my husband's in the Air Force) and we were watching Cowboy Bebop at a anime FREAK friends house. I think they had every one ever made good or bad and made us watch them all. lol! Anyway, we loved Cowboy Bebop just cause it was so different and kinda neat. And of course I loved Ein-didn't get Ed so much but Ein was cute and saved the day a couple times so he was cool. I don't know any other dog that knows computers like Ein does. We lived in Japan 6 years and corgis got to be kinda popular off base and I kept seeing them and thought they were sooo cute. One day we went to Tokyo and our hotel was near a dog groomer and this woman with 6 beautiful poofy perfect corgis came walking down the street towards it and we just happened to be walking by and I was like a magnet to her. I didn't know if she knew English but thankfully she knew a little and I kept going saying how cute they were and how "kawaii" they were. She just kept saying thank you. But that impression never left my head and when we moved to San Antonio I had already decided I wanted a brown and white Pembroke named Einstein. Ein for short and that's just what we did. And we loved him so much we got another corgi and named her Daisy. We had to have a boy and a girl and she just happens to be his half sister so they have kind of the same bossy personaliities which I think is funny sometimes and not so much others. But Daisy had many names before we settled on Daisy May. It was Basil which didn't fit her personality and then Bella which was too dainty and finally Daisy May which fit her perfectly. I think that was all the names we actually called her but we thought of so soooo many. It was much harder with her cause we didn't have a name picked out years ahead of time.

I named my corgi Harlie before I even got her, just on a whim. Having picked that I had the hardest time picking a name to register her with, but after a few months (yes, months!) I settled on Hollywood's Hot Rod Harlie, because her dams name is Allen's Little Hollywood and Harlie rockets around making as much noise as a motorcycle!
My two pembrooke corgi brothers are named J.D. and Turk after the characters in Scrubs my absolute fav TV show. Turk is the black tri-color, but the name fits his personality so much. He is the larger of the 2 as well as the more outgoing and comical. J.D was runt of the litter and he is quirky in his own ways. Turk often makes J.D. his beeyatch, but J.D. doesn't always get bossed around. J.D is the more cuddly pup and more clingy. He is definiely a lover. It's funny b/c they are both insanely attached to each other just like in the show. We originally just planned on getting J.D., but when we went to pick him up we couldn't leave Turk behind. Turk was the only tri-color and so beautiful. We didn't want J.D. to be alone. We didn't name them until we had them for a few hours to evaluate how the fit with the names. Their sister Mily (pronounced Milly) belongs to my mom. She was named Mily b/c that is Czech for love. My gave her to my mom as a surprise on the day of the Czech heritage festival (which is my family's heritage). They are a mischevious group. =)
The pup that I got was a little hard for me to name before I saw her. I had the traditional list of Lucy and Molly, which I really liked but did not fit her. I thought about Jubilee and Rogue and Shadowkat and finally looked at Frank Herbert's Dune's character list since it has been a while since I last read the series. Still, nothing. Finally, I looked up Freya who is the Norse Goddess of love and fertility and happens to love fairies!

When I saw her, it fit. Freya it was and she does love frolicking in the grass. Maybe I should get her a chariot pulled by two cats just like the goddess had--that would be funny to watch.

I named my mom Chihuahua/pug mix Morningstar. I didn't really think about it until waaaay after the fact. But being that it was the first name that came to mind as I looked into her brown eyes--it became her name. Oddly enough, she lives up to that name everyday.
My husband first saw Cowboy Bebop and had to have a Corgi named Ein. We were able to find a beautiful Corgi that needed to be rescued, but since she was a girl, we couldn't call her Ein, so we decided on Miyuki (Japanese for beautiful snow) since we got her when it was snowing and she loves jumping through it :-)
Well being the video game/anime geek that I am I registered Cloud with the name Cloud Hayate Pepelu Tivrusky. Cloud being from FFVII, Hayate being from fullmetal alchemist (Riza's dog=Black Hayate), and Pepelu Tivrusky being from Cowboy Bebop(Ed's full name was Edward Wong Hao Pepelu Tivrusky IV). So that's where I got my inspiration from; people sure do always look at me funny when I tell them Cloud's full name.
My son had saved for 2 years just to get a corgi...(he started at 13!) I finally started to look for them, convinced at last that he would actually take responsibility for a puppy...but no luck for a while, then bam! a newspaper ad with only one left, with the poor lady stuck in a motel room because the snowstorm wiped her power out...I begged her to hold onto the puppy, we were only 2 hours away...She laughed and said, "I can wait until the snow melts, really..." So, Ein was born on Thanksgiving day, and we got him at 11 weeks old....Ein IS my dog now, Mars has college with 'no pets' so.... one day i need to find him a good lookin' gal, and mayhap Mars will relent and take a new puppy....Mars named Ein, from Cowboy Be Bop...now i need to figure out a better name than "Ed" for his future gal bunny butt heh..
I named my corgi Yoda because he has huge ears by corgi standard, and he is clam and collected most of the time. So Yoda fits him pretty well we thought!
We were actually going to name our corgi Ein, if we got a little boy. Then, I saw our puppy, and I fell in love!

We were looking for a name that was geeky (because my husband and I are geeks), yet cute at the same time. We went through a lot of names! Then, it dawned on me...MISO! There's red miso, and white miso...it was perfect! Cute and at the same time slightly wapanese-ey (but not in a bad way). So, we found our name: Miso Soup Kelty! We don't use the Soup part of her name very often, but I thought it was cute anyhow.
Newton's middle name is bebop.
I am an anime otaku so of course there would have to be some reference to Bebop in the naming of my Pembroke Welsh Corgi! A portion of his registered name is "Ein's Real Folk Blues". We call him by his pet name which is Ashton. When he is bad we call him "Evil Ash" and when he is good, "Good Ash", in reference to the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness movies. If you tell him "Give me some sugar baby" you will get kisses. :D
Tom Servo was the name from me and my husbands favorite show mystery science theater 3000 it fits too because the character is a short robot with really short arms.
When we pick up our Ella, we had a 2 hr drive home and lots of time to pick a name. Our son is named is named Eric, and we wanted an E name for our puppy
We had originally thought of naming her Ein, however since we ended up getting a SHE this was not going to work. During the 2 hrs, we went through every E name. We were determined not to take her home without a name. Eric was going along the lines of something with an L. So lots of names later and we have our Ella.
