One of Jack's favorite things is the Corgi slide. If we throw a ball for him in our tile hallway, he will run towards it with much ferocious play growling, then slam on the rear anchors about 5 feet before the object and do a perfectly controlled slide to grab the ball.

He never runs into anything. I read something online that makes me think it's not an uncommon Corgi trait. I'm just amazed he can manage the maneuver without crashing into doors or walls.

Does your Corgi love sliding stops?

Yes! I call it it "drifting". Ein drifts around corners and such when he fraps or when chasing an object, it's so entertaining to watch!
Lol. Dax has the ability to stop, but if he gets too excited he can't help it. However, he has managed to find a way to not slam his head into the wall. We usually throw his toy down the hallway to the front door, which is carpet except for tile just in front of the door. At first, he would just run and slide head first into the door. Now, he either slows down before he hits the tile, or, if he's really excited, he'll actually spin once he hits it so that his butt hits the door instead of his head. Lol. I know he has the ability and the knowledge of how to stop because he does it sometimes, I just think he gets too excited.
We throw the tennis balls into our tiny kitchen. Smooth tile floor. They slide into the cupboard doors like hockey players. Fully controlled.
yep ein just loves doing this. since we have tile in the entry and kitchen he's skidding out all the time. i think it's funny that he knows how to put on the breaks just in time before he hits the wall. he like to think he's "corgi drifting." lol.
Sami just started doing this! We don't even have to throw anything although she does it if we throw toys in the kitchen or garage. I just love the satisfied look on her face when she does it she's so happy with herself.
Oh, my Keke love to do the slide and she did it almost every fetch.
Yes...my Layla does this all the time and if she was a horse she would be one awesome reiner!!!
Loki does this a lot, I assume you have wood floors?
