Pennys new sister...Jacob...yes she is a girl named Jakey

Pennys sister is a pomeranian. She is 8 months old and really takes on the roll as the spoiled youngest baby :-). It is very cute; however at the same time we are having MANY problems leaving her home alone! As soon as we walk out the door, Jakey will scream at the top of her lungs and continue to do so the whole time we are gone. The reason I know this is because our landlords have complained about her crying and say she does so the whole length of us being out. We dont know what to do. Penny is with her but she still crys. I think this really stresses Penny out because she can not do anything to get her to stop. We tried leaving the tv on, leaving the radio on, she isn't confined to a small area; she gets the run of the kitchen and living room. Does someone have ANY IDEAS on how to get her comfortable enought to stay home alone for just a few hours a day :-/

Actually, some dogs are quieter and calmer when confined. Is she crate trained?
Sounds like a massive case of Seperation Anxiety, we had a cross breed that really suffered with this, to the point we could not leave the room, never mind the house. I would recommend having a look for a puppy trainer near you, who will be able to help you with this. We could never break Dylan of this, and had to rehome him with a family who were pretty much at home most of the time.
She cries in a crate as much as she does out of one.We will try puppy classes and try to break her of this habit.
