Oh, I am so upset. I was driving with Hannah and had the window down for her, like usual. Next thing I know, she jumps out. I was doing no more than 25mph, but she landed in someone's driveway. I slammed on the breaks and went to her. She came right to me but was crying. I took her to the car and saw that she was bleeding near her mouth. I called my boyfriend (I was right down the road), and he came to help. I was hysterical. He called the vet and they had him check her over. She seemed okay. Just shaken up and a little bloody. She scraped up her chin pretty good and has quite a bit of swelling there. She also has a chunk of skin missing from her leg. The vet said that if she seemed to be acting okay and her gums were still pink, she would likely be fine. They said to monitor her for a while and see how she does. It's been about an hour ago, and she's already back to playing and such. Is it okay to use neosporin on her? I'm afraid that she will lick it off her mouth.
I'm going out tomorrow and buying a harness for the car. I am so upset with myself for letting this happen. It could have been so much worse, and it would have been all my fault. Ugh. I'm so paranoid that she might have internal injuries or something. Do you think I should take her in to get checked out tomorrow or just let her be?
Sorry for rambling. I'm just still in shock, I think.
