Hello to all....just wondering if all Corgis have problems with shedding? Bailey sheds alot all the time. My vet said it is just the breed. I brush him often but he still sheds.

OMG, What a hoot!! Little wigs for dogs!! Don't forget the Chuihauahas!!
Carol, when you get the craft figured out, send us an address and we can ship our excess Corgi hair directly to you! I do notice most of the bird nests around our farm are lined with a nice soft cushion of Corgi and Leonberger hair. When I groom outside, the birds will raid the piles of dog hair to buid their nests. On an interesting note...I also found a small wren nest woven entirely out of horse tail hair and dog hair.
Hi Kristen, During the summer, I brush the dogs outside. I keep hoping the birds will come and get the hair, but apparently there are not enough birds in our area to use it all up! I think that once we get the craft figured out, we can sell it on Ebay !!

The hair never gets used up. I don't think there are enough birds in Nebraska to use just the hair from my dogs!
It may have been on this forum (but I don't remember where exactly) I read to hang the loose pet fur and your dryer lint in a tree using one of those mesh bags that oranges come in. Great for bird watching as they come to get it for nest building. I think I'm going to try that.
Oh my god does my corgi shed!!!! Foxi is 6months and has been shedding non stop for about 2 months!!! I knew they shed but didnt realize just how much!!! I brush her 2 times a week but she still just keeps shedding and shedding!!!! I wonder if its worth it to try some of those vitamins for healthy coat and skin. Anyway, you are not alone!!! I might break down and get the furminator but right now the lint brush works well on our clothes!! Hang in there!!!
It appears I have alot of company in my "fuzziness", lol. I need to look at the furminator...I had never heard of it until I got on this website. Foxi is a little doll!
If we can collectively put our heads together and figure out a way to make use of all the fur, we could all be billionaires. Seriously, I could provide clothing to most of the population of the world if I could find a way to weave together all the fur shed from Simon and Blue and make something fashionable out of it. I've also gone through two vacuum cleaners, and about 10,000 rolls of that roller tape stuff I use to touch up my clothes before I leave the house, so I could really use some way to recoup the lost income. ;-) Corgis are like the most perfectly evolved fur making machines ever to walk the surface of the Earth.
Its to bad that the corgi breed was cursed with this problem! I love the breed and I think its cool when people who have never seen one say, what an awesome dog you have but then I think to myself(oh god please dont hold Foxi, you'll be full of hair!) I do let them know she's shedding (like its a temporary thing) but it doesnt stop them from giving her the attention she loves!!! So after they love on her, I just hand them the lint roller! hahaha!
I totally agree with you....in addition to my corgi, I have two cats, one 19 and one 13 years old and they both shed too. I think we should buy stock in the roller tape companies. The worst part is my fiance has to wear a black officer's uniform.....it isn't pretty. LOL.
There was the story of the rescue fluffy here in the Pacific Northwest a few years ago that got a much needed brushing and yielded two grocery bags full of fur in one sitting.
We've always found humor to be the best way to deal with the problem (and a good broom). The standing joke is that if you could bring yourself to save two whole years worth you could knit a whole new corgi.
Ken
Two years?????? I can knit you a new Corgi once a week if you can teach me how to knit. ;-)
