In October of 2001 my first daughter,Raevyn, was just a baby of 10 months.I loved her dearly.I also loved Maline, pembroke welsh corgi, too. She was a vibrant 6 years old.I got her when she was 10 months old in 93. I had never been near a corgi.I had probably seen their photos but don't recall.I first encounter them from a book I was reading and decided to research them.I found a local pet store carring one and went with my sister to go look.At first sight I was hooked,I bought her for $550( 1 months rent for me was a stretch for the budget) but I loved her.She was a light fawn and silvery white with traces of brown around were her "saddle" would later come out.she had the biggest awkward head on the tiniest delicate body that just looking at her made me laugh.I was said I was a large dog guy made Maline changed that. That store clerk advised me she had some difficulties with her eyes and that her coat was not up to show standards,I didn't care what a judge thought.I wasn't getting her for show but for companionship.I digress, thats how i came by her and her by me.
In the next six years we made a great team together.I admit there was some rough patches.I lost a job and in my frustration and anger I hurt her several times. But with my sister's help and Maline's undying love I changed.I met my wife and we had a beautiful baby girl, other than Maline(we called her our baby too).well back to the beginning.
At 10 months Raevyn and Maline were interacting but not for the better, both baby and dog were contending for my affection and attentions.Eventually Maline was seen and heard snapping at the baby.I had a choice, very simple one in fact(at least in my mind.)I had to give her away.In short i gave her to a no kill shelter here in Fort Worth.I learned much later that she was adopted but could not find out who got her. I was wandering if anyone here could help in this quest for closure? Her name was Maline and she was given to the ASPCA sponsored NO-Kill shelter in Fort Worth Texas in October of 2001.Could anyone tell me the rest of her story to rest my aching heart?I look forward to any response.
