Hi everyone.

I recently saw a documentary out of Great Britain that talked about European breeders "culling" their litters.  I'm curious as to how many of our breeders on the site participate in culling.  And what is the reason that you do?

And as I said (which is based on my own experience with Bulldog breeders), they CAN breed naturally but the majority are at high risk due to the way they are built. The ones that successfully mate and whelp naturally are not of breed standard which should tell us something about what people have deemed to be the standard. For this reason, breeders us AI and c-section since most breeding pairs are of breed standard and they would like to believe they that will produce like puppies. Many breeders still go the natural route but you will be hard pressed to find a Bulldog breeder who does and if they are being honest as to why, you will get the same answer that I was given and Wind Dial gave.
You know what is funny? Today's bulldog build is developed after bullbaiting is outlawed. Today's bulldog built has no functional use what so ever with regards to bullbaiting, dog fighting or guarding, the original purposes of the bulldog. The bulldogs today are bred for man's vanity to have a tough looking dog.
