We have the great screw down stakes and cables. Alot of times we attached them to the legs of the picnic tables....they love seeing the other people and doggies. They love love love to walk on their leashes.
We camp with ours all the time. They make great campers because they love new places and meeting people.
Definitely the stakes and cables. Make sure you know of any larger animals that might be predators to your babies in the area and take precautions. don't leave them outside if you leave the area and make sure that their food is in airtight containers. Make sure they have plenty of water at all times, and shade if it's going to be warm. Keep them on leashes at all times. You wouldn't want one to wander off... Try swimming if there is NON SWIFT water around. Be wary of ticks. Make sure they stay out of brush and bushes... Check them over every evening before bedtime. Have fun. Take lots of pics!!!

kirby was 4 months old when he went on his first camping trip, i would suggest either tying yours up so they dont run away or clearly setting the boundries in which they aare aloud to wander. kirby got restless after a few hours, but he quieted down when his best friend koda (an american eskimo dog) showed up. it was smooth sailing from then on. i believe it strengthend our bond, he became more loving, and trusting afterwards. another thing is to make sure there are not any weird spiders or harmful insects/ snakes around your campsite before letting your dog run around and explore
