I'm a little bit upset at my boy. Last Thursday I started missing him in the house and looked around the corner from the living room and there he was lunging forward like doing push ups, peeing on the dining room carpet. I "talked" to him a little and then cleaned it up, put Pet Enzyme down and cleaned that up...no big problem.

Today, nearly a week later, he did it again but I caught him before he got too far. Here's the thing. I watched him as he went into the kitchen, something he just does for whatever the reason, but this time he spent a little longer in there than usual. Keep in mind I keep a pee pad in there just in case he has to go and I don't detect he needs to go out but he's never used it or had to. so, if he needed to, he could have peed on that while in the kitchen. He didn't. Instead, he wen't out the other side of the kitchen, into jthe dining room again and I saw him start in there-nearly the exact spot he did last week.

What's going on with him? This is the first time in nearly three years he's peed in the house? It really bothers me as that's just not him. When I came home today around 4:15 I took him out and he did his thing. About 5:30 we had supper and I usually go outside afterward with him if he needs to go again. This time, he didn't eat but walked right by his bowl(nothing unusual as he often does this but comes back) went into the kitchen, walked into the dinging room and wet the floor. I'm at the end trying to figure this out.

Have you had a urinalysis done on him? He may have an infection that is causing this inappropriate behavior.
No, but I'm calling the vet tomorrow. this is so unlike him and totally out of character. The thing is, it's not an every day or every other day occurrence. It's only happened twice within the past seven days. He never smells the carpet-he just goes. What I don't understand(human reasoning) is why when he was in the kitchen did he not go on the pee pad? I keep him in the kitchen while at work and there's two pee pads on the floor. He always uses one so, he knows what they're for. this is what perplexes me.
Now, I'm totally perplexed. He was on the couch a moment ago and I knelt down to hug him and he let out a cat like sound and jerked away. I dint squeeze him but it startled me. I haven't heard a sound like that from hie before. In fact, I waited a moment and tried to hug him gently again and he did it again. something's going on. A little alter I told him lets go outside and he jumped off the couch and went like nothing was wrong. right now he's in the computer room with me like everything is great. I'm totally lost but tomorrow he's going to the vet.
Please let me know what you find out. Hugs to you and Bubba both!
Thanks for letting me know what was going on! I'm sure you feel better!
i hope everything got better for u, did u ever find out what was going on?
I hope your little guy is okay! keep us posted!
I think there' a possibility I over reacted a little on this. Perhaps he had a memory lapse or I didn't watch the signs he wanted to go outside. Bubba's a quite boy and don't bark or scratch at the door neither does he whine when he wants to go out. You have to watch or just go outside more often which we usually do. At any rate, he hasn't done it again.

The vet checked him out head to toe and told me there wasn't a thing wrong with him that she could determine. She also said his rather odd reaction to me later was probably due in fact to his knowing I was upset with him as they can read their owners like a book and we can't hide, despite trying, what we're feeling. His odd noise as I hugged him never before or sense has never happened so, I can only surmise she was right about that. All is well now in this area.

Unfortunately the little fellow now has another issue with his right eye but that's another thread. Just briefly he started squinting and keeping his eye closed part of the time one evening about two weeks ago and I wasted no time taking him to the vet. He has a superficial corneal ulcer we're now trying to deal with. The Atropine and the antibiotic I was given hopefully will clear it up although it's been nearly three weeks now and it's still not totally gone...poor Bubba.

Thanks all for asking about him. I feel so bad for him with his eye.
