We headed out to the dog park tonight and played plenty of fetch with Stan.  This dog park has a lot of mulch, not really grass.  When we came home and I was cleaning his dirty paws, I noticed one his front paws had a little piece of skin flaking off of it.  He doesn't seem bothered by it.  He didn't react when I was touching it and wanted to continue our game of fetch at home.  So my question is, should I leave this little flake of skin (assuming it'll fall off naturally) or should I try to remove it?  Are his paws looking raw or damaged?  Thoughts?

I remember at one of our meet ups a fellow corgi owner had this happen. He just ripped it off like it was no big deal and the dog continued to play. I probably didn't add anything to the convo, i just remember that one time...
If you do try to remove it, I would not just rip it off. That would be equivalent to ripping a hangnail off (maybe worse). I would try to use some clippers to cut it off but be careful not to get too deep. I believe if you just try to rip it off, it may rip some of the healthy tissue off with it. The main pad looks a little raw, unless it always looks like that. I would also just watch Stan to see if he starts to lick the area. If this happens, I would put some triple antibiotic on it (neosporin) to aid the healing. If he doesn't seem too concerned about it, I wouldn't worry about it too much. If it looks like it is getting infected or anything, I would take him in. I would also be aware of the mulch. I don't like mulch. There is too much risk of splinters. (I'm picky). I like a nice big grassy area. :D
I would cut it off with some clippers and put some antibiotic cream on it. When my dogs paws are looking rough ori am worried about them i soak them in epson salt and warm water 2-3 times a day for 5-10 min, it does wounders.
