Katie, I enjoy showing, and certainly part of that that I have not competed in yet includes obedience and rally and agility and herding.. And I love watching those! And there is also a rising interest in doing tracking titles on Pems:) That is awsome as well and I see mine doing some of that naturally , as naturally as they seem to herd things.. I hide a familiar ball or toy we have been playing with and tell them find, and like little beagles, they put their noses to the ground and ,,lo and behold come up with the hidden ball:) Think it would be fun to do tracking with mine . Have a rescue girl I think would be fantastic in agility as she is so driven and focused... You are in a good area... NH There are probably several active dog clubs near you and probably several pem breeders as well who could "mentor" you should you decide to take showing in conformation and/or performance events seriously with your Pem. in fact I am sure someone in this group must be familiar with pem breeders in NH:)))
I know I have seen kennel names in NH but dont know any personally. I lived for almost a decade just off Cape Cod, in a town called Fairhaven, MA before moving here to the midwest, and spent lots of time in NH!!!

well, to comment back on the whole show thing - kind of off topic now but my internet was down this morning:

I totally understand where you guys are coming from & agree - I definitely didn't buy GiGi because of the bloodlines and the kennel actually doesn't heavily advertise that either.

My thinking was just that she has the potential with all of those things working in her favor. I don't think she's necessarily show quality just because she's been bred by some successful show dogs.

As for her temperament, she's not an extremely hyper puppy - it's possible she will be far more couch-potato-ish as she gets older. She certainly loves to play and run around but I have seen adult dogs with more natural pep. She does seem to get bored of her toys every once in awhile and look for things to chew on, but overall, you could be right. I might not need too too much to keep her mentally/physically stimulated.

I will check out the local obedience classes - that's a really good idea - I know my city actually has quite a lot to offer for that.

My blue boy, Eddie was a Halloween(sort of) puppy. His registered name is Beaszak's Foggy Bottom Uncle Fester. His litter brother is Beaszak's Gomez Adams.
Holiday themes are fun, but there can be such common names used. I really like it when people are creative with those.
I should have new photos of the Dirty Dozen by the end of the weekend, along with their registered names. The theme morphed into a Space/Sci Fi theme and we had some fun with it.

ok, we already have the "headless horseman" for halloween- are we also going to have the "headless corgis"? they are just bashful and don't want you all staring at them. is fiona trying to beat the dirty dozen in numbers? my heart just goes out to these poor girls no matter how many they have. maybe she will have halloween babies. think of the fun with naming them. cindy had to come up with 12 names, and that is way to many. i think i would have just numbered them. give them roman numerals. just kidding!! hope all goes well with the delivery and momma fiona is all right and so are the babies.

Vet said 7-9 puppies, He could see 7 heads and thought there were a couple possible on top of her stomach in her ribs.
