Wow! Time is flying by!
Jackson is doing great! He has really come out of his shell this past week, and is showing us what a cute little booger he is! We knew he was a great dog, but he's becoming more special to us day after day. He is such a little lover...he loves to snuggle, and this past week has learned to jump up and off the furniture whenever he wants to visit us. Periodically he uses the stools, but it depends on how fast he wants to get going...
He now goes up and down stairs at his will, including the basement steps. He loves going out in the backyard with the other dogs. Our neighbor has two little maltese type dogs, and he is so scared of them! They bark at him non-stop, and he hides behind Seanna or Sage. He found his voice here too this past week. He barks now at the mailman with the other dogs, and periodically at people walking by with other dogs. Not alot, just enough to remind us he's still here.
He has taken the second place in the pack, which has been good for my German Shepherd mix. She is just a total nervous wreck, and having another stable dog in the pack has been good for her. Sage now is basically the kid that is totally laid back, goes with the flow, and creates peace between everyone. If Jackson wants a toy, he just goes and takes it from her, and she's perfectly happy to go find another one. Seanna still is "top-dog", but I think that will change as time goes on. She is still a little snippy at Jackson with toys at times, but if they get in a little tussle, she will back off. From what I've heard, female corgis are bossy, so hopefully they'll just work it out.
And we are pretty sure that Amber is going to make him a pet therapy dog. We are looking into classes here in this area to get started. He is a perfect tempermant, and loves all people--kids included. I really think he can inspire alot of people. He can show them that if life throws you lemons, you can make lemonade!!
