3 months - vomiting... please help
Mia is 3 months now and I feed her Orijen Puppy. She’s been on it since we got her last month and everything was fine until now. Yesterday and this morning she vomited 3 times and I have no idea why? Is it possible that it’s because I added Purina Puppy food on Tuesday?...I was running out of Orijen :(...It was only for one meal... I’m really scared I don’t know if it will go away or if it is something serious. What could it possibly be? And what can I do? Should I take her to the vet?
Your help will be much appreciated... Thank you.

To me it doesn't sound like it was the food mixing since things can go through them quite fast.
Personally I would take her to a vet especially if its constant vomiting and you don't know if she got into something or not. Pups upchuck every now and then but if its continual and not stopping it may be something serious.

I highly doubt it is the Purina. What exactly did she vomit up? green, yellow, foam, food chunks? how frequent? time of the day? any diarrhea? loose poop, solid poop?
It'll be okay to not feed her any food for a day, just drink water and let her stomach rest, if it is something that she ingested, go to the supplement aisle and get a bottle of activated charcoal tablet, the activated carbon will act like a sponge and absorb any poison along her GI tract. Remember not to buy bbq charcoal :) Don't be alarm if she poop out black after ingestion, its very normal :)
Keep her hydrated and monitor her temperature and check her gums, if you're still unsure, call your vet ask for help, s/he will be able to walk you through over the phone. Get well soon Mia!

The first time, it happened in the evening shortly after she ate (sometime over the weekend). The second time was on Wednesday (same thing), the day before is when I gave her the Purina food so I guess it wasn’t that since she vomited once before. Third time was this morning after she ate. The vomit was a beige color and she basically vomited her food. She seems very happy and active, extremely hyper, so she doesn’t look at all sick.
I only witnessed her vomit this morning the other 2 times I wasn’t there and now that my family told me exactly when it was, I don’t think its the Purina food after all… (I gave it to her on Tuesday and she vomited a few days before that).
Maybe it’s the deworming medication? We went to the vet on July 19th and since then we gave her deworming medication for 5 days in a row Tuesday to Saturday. I’m supposed to give her a different deworming pill in 3 days and then another different deworming medication in 2 weeks.
What do you think?

ic, judging from the color and transit time, it is most likely that she ate too fast / overeat + activity after meal that cause the vomit. It's okay to let her stomach rest for today, keep hydration up, only broth for today. Tomorrow you can feed more frequent meals with a little water in smaller portions.
It is possible that deworming rx could cause vomiting, but the reaction should have been more violent. Also Mia's reaction and vomit timing doesn't match the description. Here's a pharmacology textbook on deworming rx.

I just spoke to the vet. She told me that Mia most probably inhales her food rather than eat it hehe. She told me to try putting water with her food and it might make her eat slower :) Thank god it’s only that!

You could also give her a small about of her food at a time. Ella is an inhaler of food, and has done the "eat all of my food in 10 seconds and barf it up" move. Now I will give her 1/2 of it then wait 15 mins. and give her the other 1/2. There are also special bowls that slow dogs down eating, but I've never tried one and I'm not sure if they are made for puppies.

Madoc tended to inhale food and then throw it up. Petsmart has these heavy balls made of china that go in the center of the dish of food. It slows the eating down because the pup has to nose around the ball to get at all the food. He's never thrown up since I started using it. Hope Mia feels better-- she may just learn to "pace herself"!

I had the same problem this am but it was coming out the other end. I took a sample to the vet and there was nothing wrong. vet thinks with the pups it was garbage mouth (ate something outside that upset their tummy's. I gave Kaopectate to settle the tummies. I would definatly contact your vet and see what they say as you don't want her getting dehydrated. One meal totally of a different meal could make her sick. How is she acting? is she lethagic or just acting like normal? Good luck and let us know how she's doing!

Hope Mia is feeling better. Ours throw up every once in a while...
If she is eating to fast, you can stop using a bowl to put her food into. We put our dogs food directly on the floor and spread it out a bit. It forces them to eat slower instead of being able to get their little snouts into the bowl and pick up a million kibbles at a time!! Dogs dont naturally eat out of a bowl anyways..thats all "people" ideas! :)
