Hello fellow Corgi Peeps.....my pup is 4 1/2 months old now and has cut all his adult incisors in front and lost at least one pre-molar.  When should I expect him to lose his canines (those sharp, finishing-nail, needles!) and get the adult set?  Just wondering, as my poor hands and fingers are absolutely tired of receiving battle wounds from our playing together!  You know how it is....they get the strength of a big dog, but still have those ice picks that puncture the skin everytime!  Thanks! :)

Generally they will get all of their adult teeth between 4-6 months. Each dog is a little different and the molars come in next. Any time in the next few weeks he should be getting his adult canines in and no more needle teeth! Make sure to give him lots of chewies during this time and be aware you may need to add some warm water to his food and let it get soft while he is teething.

Thanks Melissa!  I kinda figured that he'd be getting his canines by then...just hoping that Corgis aren't late-bloomers when it came to that...gosh, my poor hands are a mess.  It's my own fault, though, should wear gloves or something!  I just can't resist playing with him and sometimes he just grabs my hands without warning.

I think one or two of Luke's canines held on until he was about 6 months old. They were pretty stubborn!

Thank you, Jane.  I am waiting....don't want to rush his growing up, but those teeth are so darn sharp!

Shippo will be 5 months old in a couple weeks and he has most of his adult teeth in but I sure do wish those dang canines would fall out.

Yes, Melody....Cody's now lost 1 of the canines on bottom!  It came out while fetching the tennis ball!  I've actually found 7 of his baby teeth.  They came out during play and he got a funny look on his face and stopped for a minute!  I knew that "look" every time after the first and was able to find the tooth!  Well...3 more "ice picks" to go and maybe we won't have so many wounds on our hands!
