Hey Corgi friends,

I woke up this morning to the news of the devastating storms in the southern US. I realize that if we have people in Alabama and surrounding area, they most likely don't have power. But if you are able to let us know you are ok, please do let us know. I'm hoping that everyone in the storm path is ok!

We're thinking about you also, hoping everyone is safe!!
I'm not in Alabama, but we had three tornadoes hit my county in Virginia.  Emergency sirens went off three times between 11 PM and 2 AM. I packed an emergency kit and we hid in the stairwell.  Thankfully nothing happened to us... Waffle looked very concerned the entire time.  A man who is quite involved with the Virginia Tech horse judging team lost his farm and all of his horses, though.  :[
My friend from this site, Lois Allen, who has Randy (fluffy Corgi) of "doggie door" and "purple thing" video fame lives in AL  -south of Birmingham, I think.  I hope they are safe!!!
I heard from lois on Wed. about 4:30...she said power was off and on and she was ready for the storms so hopefully she's ok!

We are from South of the real damaged area...but the damage in the B'ham and Tuscaloosa area is almost unbelievable.  My husband teaches in Alabama and coaches the golf team.  The course they were to play on Monday for the Semi Finals for state is in Anniston, they will not be able to play because of an estimated 80 tress down on the course, entire maintance of the course was distroyed as well as half of their maintanance equipment.  A small inconvenience when you put into prespective the loss of life and property. The devistation is horrible with most people in the the entire central alabama area without power.  I have to say that I said a little prayer for our little animal friends that I know have been displaced and hurt in this horrible weather.  My heart and prayers go out to everyone effected by this horrible storm.

PS  We did a little safe room time ourselves during the early morning hours...We had damage to our Muncipal Airport, Federal prison, county jail and plenty of trees down....but doing much better than other areas.

We just moved to Arkansas on Monday. That night we had a huge tornado wipe out a lot of the little rock air force base:( the scary part was we dropped the animals off at our new home and went to Lowes to get some supplies. The tornado was on its way so we had to go to the back of Lowes and wait 2hrs until it passed. I was crying because I was worried about Teddy and my two cats. Thank God they were safe when We got home. We Then also had a 2nd tornado the next day but it wasn't near us and it went to Alabama :( what a great week to move here to our new home...
Oh my goodness, I can't imagine that. D: I was freaking out about Waffle's safety when I was with him. I'm glad everything turned out okay, though.
wow, that had to seem like the longest wait of your life, how scary, and glad that it all turned out ok for you and the pups!!  What a way to start off in a new state!!
Good News!!!  Just heard from Lois - she and Randy are ok.  Power has just come back on.  Whew!!!
We're in Mobile, so we missed the worst of the weather.  However, I've heard from several corgi folk who have lost property, power and water (in N. Alabama).  We've been quite concerned for everyone.  Still waiting to get word from military friends who have family in Ringgold, GA which was all but obliterated.  Honestly, looking at all the damage reminded me of Katrina.  Continue to send comforting, healing energy to those affected by the storms.

Praying and thinking about everyone dealing with the storms and aftermath of it all.  Wow, mother nature sure is powerful :O
