I forget whose blog I read it on, but someone was putting coconut oil on their corgi's paw pads. I noticed that Linus's pads were looking/feeling pretty dry and some were starting to crack. He had a small abrasion on one pad that is mostly healed, finally. So, I put him in the tub and washed just his feet to soften them, then I rubbed coconut oil into the pads (clipped his nails too). WOW! They are amazingly restored after only hours of the oil sinking in. I also don't feel guilty if he licks his feet because it's human food grade coconut oil. If anyone has a Trader Joe's, they have very reasonably priced coconut oil.

Thats nice to know.  I use it for a lot of things.

Sounds good.  I bought a 1.5 Lbs container of Organic, unrefined, cold pressed Coconut Oil at Costco for around $18   I'ts great for so many things, there was a long post on the subject awhile back:

Now that it's winter and my hands are cracking...I think I'll try it for myself. I do put it in my coffee when I think of it:)

Oh thank you for sharing! I never knew that! I know it is good for human skin but never knew it was good for dogs!
