I have 6 corgis and 3 colors. Each color has a distinct personality. Is it just a coincidence that each color fits in a certain category? I have often read about the tri's being bolder and more intense, what about yours?

Sables: Sage, Teddy (rescued) both are my heart dogs...willing to please and definitely I am "their world". Very laid back.

Red/white: Wynn, Bella, Wiley(rescue) : they are what I would call "normal" corgi personality: Both willing to please but a bit more stubborn and can live with me or without me.

Black headed tri: Over the edge ,dominant, doesn't do anything halfway, "the boss" most loving but more on "her terms"

Red headed tri?

What are your corgis colors and their personalities?

Max is a red/white fluffy and he is very mellow, easily trained, mommy's boy but he does let you know very vocally when he wants to play.  Katie is a red/white...a few black hairs on the tips of her ears but if you ruffle her red head it's black underneath...does that make a sable?  I get confused...what is a fawn?  Katie is a much lighter red than Max

I remember when we got our first corgi...I had wanted a female when I talked to the rescue.  It's always been the females (mutts or other breeds) we had that were mellow.  The rescue person told me they don't call them bitches for nothing.  Katie is more aggressive then Max...towards him at playtime, when it comes to wanting attention, treats...one could easily lose a finger handing her one.  Max & Katie are uncle and niece.

Napoleon is a rascal, who can be bossy if you let him. Loves playing "games" which is what I think he thinks the training sessions that his owner puts him through. Although he was born in November he epitomizes the gemini traits; when he is good he is really good but can have an mischievous twin side. A tricolor with sable head he can be a lovely lap dog (although heavy) and very sweet , but he also has to have a job and the agility and video-making Gabby does helps keep him interested. Of course treats, tennis balls and belly runs help ALOT to keep him interested.

In my limited experience it seems most of the reds I've met are much calmer and sweet tempered. My particular tri is bossy and Very active.

Funny you should mention the astrology signs...I have an old discussion on this...will have to find it:)

You know looking at his head coloring maybe sable is not correct. Tri colored tan, blk and white. Not really sable, right? His head is more tan than red and not brown or black.
I saw it, gabby is a Virgo, I'm a libra and Napoleon is a Scorpio. His strength and weak keywords match him. My husband Leo and son is a Gemini

Butters is a sable and she sounds just like your sables.  Sweet as can be and wants to be where I am.  She is pretty laid back but loves to play.  She is a little stubborn from time to time, but which corgi isn't?! ;)
