I was playing with Sadie the other day and noticed that her two front legs have well developed knees. I am thinking it is because corgi's are so long and they need the extra support; or atleast I am hoping Sadie isn't the only one! Take a look at your little ones, you can tell the most when she is standing up and you're in front of her. I will try and snap a picture of them, but she was suspicious of me last night when I tried.

Yeah, I can see it in her pictures on your page. I searched google for pictures of other corgi puppies and I found one that shows the same thing, so I think she's not the only one!

Glad to hear I am not the only one! The vet has never said anything, so it is probably normal! I just noticed and it looked funny.
I believe this is because of their herding and having the ability to turn quickly and sharp to do their job that they were bred to do years ago and also now...although I'm thinking that more corgis now herd kids, other dogs or try to herd their owners.
But that's not realy a knee, it's an ankle, isn't it?
Corgis have funny knobbly legs.

Remember, they are a genetic dwarf, and so their "normal" legs are technically misshapen. Their growth plates in their legs close prematurely, while their bodies are still growing. At least that's how I heard it explained.
My 17 week old puppy has the exact same knees too. Technically, the joint corresponds to our wrist, or carpals. The next joint up is their elbow, it's right next to their body. Seems odd until you think about which direction they bend.
