Could Sage just be this mellow?????

I am trying to figure out if Sage is mellow, depressed or sick???? Sage is a therapy dog and displays a super mellow personality when "working" but I was worried as I am seeing this calm all the time. I took her to the vet today and everything she checked was fine but she didn't feel the need to bloodwork at this point. She did an exam,fecal, temp and just an over all check. Sage is not having any problems other than lack of playing, she will chase the ball and run,walk with the others. Her dad is very mellow and her mother is a ball of energy that doesn't stop! Any ideas???

The vet loves Sage and with a smile on her face told me that everytime she describes a Corgi to someone she uses Sage as her example:)

I wouldn't worry, myself. Scout is this way too. She is happy just laying beside me on the couch when we are at home. Of course, there is some frapping and playing with a soft squeaky toy when I encourage her. So I'd say as long as she is active when you want her to be, she is just calm by nature. Hope I'm right in my opinion.

Sounds like the perfect dog to me. :) Gracie's pretty mellow too. I have to initiate play sometimes to get us both off our rears. Ask yourself if you'd rather have a fireball...I'm guessing no.

Is she still capable of getting excited for her favorite things? If she still goes nuts for her favorite games/walks/treats and is otherwise mellow, I would not worry too much--- she's hitting maturity and settling down. If she is not showing much enthusiasm for things she used to enjoy, I'd pursue it.

Any changes in your home? Jack got depressed when my husband was working second shift a few years back and didn't want to walk or play or anything.

She's eating fine but I have to crate her as she likes to eat S_L_O_W and will let others take her food. She is not food driven like most Corgis. She plays with toys but is not obssessed with them and will always chase the ball with her mom. I would not call her shy at all but maybe a little reserved.

My husband and I have been gone more lately (good thought Beth) due to vacations and work....maybe this is hard on her.
