Do you prefr your Corgi with or without a tail ?

I've been lucky enough to be owned by two lovely corgis, the first one had her tail docked and my second has a complete tail. I've noticed with the dog with her tail that it's easier to tell her mood and reactions and she seems to be more balanced when climbing over obstacles.

I wish Lance received the memo about wagging more, barking less. :) He likes to do both, bark and wag at the same time, silly pup. lol I love it when hes barking at a stranger approaching and his tail is wagging a mile a minute!!

John, good point about the dog's use of the tail in dog to dog body language, something I'd never considered and applies to other docked breeds.

With or without, no matter to me! I love my cardi's tails. If I had a pemie, though, wouldn't matter about the tail.

Our pemmie has a tail and I wouldn't have it any other way!!! Everyone who has met her loves her tail and prefers it on her :) She is a beautiful dog and I love knowing her mood by her wagging tail. She rarely barks and I never accounted that to her having a tail but it does make me wonder! :)

I love the tails:) Most of mine don't have one but Sage does and I know how hard they are to find but I hope to never get a docked corgi again. Most people I know love their tails and I have lost maybe 2 potential owners because my pups had tails.Livvy has a nub and at least you can see her tail wag at super high speeds. The rest you really have to look close.

I definitely prefer a tail- my Pem Potus has his! Docking being illegal here in Australia I have run into some people who are dismayed that Corgi's are no longer docked and have even had one person say Corgis now look quite ugly. However I see no reason to disfigure Corgis and remove their tail- it isbeautiful, and gives them so much personality, plus all the funny things they can do with it, like chase it, and how it goes up when Potus pees, like a little lever. He's had no major problems and I disagree with Mim that it's a hindrance, at least not so much that we should dock it. I understand docking may have been necessary when they were most commonly used as working dogs but, beyond those still used as working dogs, I find it quite unnecessary. I wish it was optional/illegal in more countries so people can appreciate their dog how they were born.

Yeah we knew Jay wouldn't be a working or show dog so we didn't see the need for it :)

It's silly that people suggest it's a hassle to a working dog when the Cardi has his tail and I don't hear any complaints from him!

I can't wait for the day when the PWCCA writes tails into the standard and don't consider it a fault to not dock.

The tail tax first started in the 1700, the last repeal was in 1796, it took the British 210 years to make tail docking illegal, I hope to live and see that change in the US during my lifetime.
