Yesterday we took Shiro to a lake. He's been pooping a lot lately but I think it's his new food. He had some diarrhea but he also did a day ago.
When we came home I gave him food right away because it was past his feeding time. He threw it all up and then ate some of the vomit when I wasn't looking and threw up again. About couple hours later I gave him a small piece of treat because he was hungry and he threw it up a couple hours later.
He slept through the night without any incidents, ate a bit of food this morning ( i only gave him very little) and didn't vomit ever since. However he's very sleepy, doesn't want to move around or play and his nose is dry.
Is he sick or just overheated? Should I go to the vet or give im a little bit more time and see if he gets better?

Is he drinking water?
If he held down the little bit of food you gave him this morning, I would wait and see. Make sure he's drinking enough water, I'd be much more worried about that than him not eating. If he's drinking water and can hold down a little food, he may have just been overheated. If you think about it, someone (human or otherwise) shouldn't eat a huge meal when they've been in excessive heat for an extended period of time because it will definitely make you sick, or, just the same, you shouldn't eat a lot BEFORE you intend to be in the heat all day. The food he ate that morning may have been what made him sick, combined with the heat (I don't know where you live, but I would imagine in August its pretty hot everywhere), and then eating when he got home could have made it worse.

Again, make sure he's drinking water, and if you can get him to hold down some food, just gradually increase the amount you're giving him until he makes it back up to what he was normally eating. If that doesn't work, I'd give the vet a call. Good luck!
Madoc hopes his bro Shiro is feeling much better! Like you we started new food this past week at the 6 mo. mark, and Madoc has been a bit loose and frequent. Could the lake water have giardia bacteria in it? Mad had a giardia bout a few weeks ago and the vet cleared it right up. But if Shiro is drinking water and starting to hold down his food, that's a great sign. I have been giving Mad a hefty Tb. of plain yogurt on his food this week for his tummy. But you might want to have him tested Monday morning first thing. I took a baggie with his runny fresh poo so he wouldn't have to face the indignity of being sampled by the vet tech when he was feeling so bad. We're sending healthy vibes your way!
I don't know if he is sick, but if the dog is vomiting, it is best to leave him empty. Even if he is hungry, it will upset his stomach. Wait 12 hours and give him boiled rice and chicken (no skin) instead of his food. This is like chicken soup and saktines for us. It calms their stomach and makes them happy. It seems mean to leave him hungry, but it will help him more than feeding him and having him be sick.
It is 8pm and Shiro is as bubbly as before and walking all over the living room looking for trouble :)
Thanks to everyone for your good advices, hey really helped.
He slept most of the day and I gave him ice cubes as he didn't really care for water. I divided his daily food portion into 5 and gave it to him throughout the day.
It was very hot today (100 degrees) so we only went outside to do his dirty business. Now it has cooled down and I'm getting ready to take him for a short walk and after his favorite part - playing in a bathtub with a stream of cold water.
He got me worried since he had both diarrhea and vomiting within 24 hours, so I've been watching him closely. He obviously feels much better now, but I'll avoid exposure to hot weather for a few days.
Thanks to everyone for your warm wishes, the puppy is back to life!!
Great! He probably just got overheated. Glad to hear he's doing better.
Every time I read one of these posts I thank God that my babies are not sick. How sad when a beloved Corgi is ill. Maybe it is the fresh country air....hope your little one gets better soon.
oh he got too well actually. Since he slept all day on Sunday he was extra hyper at night. I didn't go to bed till 11 and he was running around, bugging me, grabbing clothes and stuff way more than usual. I took him out to pee and he was just making mad circles around me. LOL
