Few Corgi questions

Hello everyone! I havent posted on here in a while nor had time too....we added a new corgi to our family! A tricolor boy, Mickey is in love with him :) Anyways, he is 5 months old and we got him a month and a week ago and his ears had still not popped, One does ocasionally but it has been flopping alot lately. I am wondering if we should consider taping? What do you guys think? I also heard that perhaps it might be because he is teething (which he certainly is) so we tried giving him some extra calcium as well...any input would be appreciated.
Also he is barking alot when we enter dog parks and see other ogs and sometimes people. We have been working persistently with him for this but really are struggling. I was wondering if anyone has used a citronella collar before or is that too drastic at his age?

Hmmm. We brought Jack home at 10 weeks and were instructed by the breeder to tape then, so yes I would definitely tape at this point!

We are not too concerned if they dont pop (although I do love my big corgi ears) I am just wondering if its actually too late to do so?

I can't say for sure, but I know some go up later than others. I think I would try for about two weeks and see if it helps (giving the ears a few hours to air out every couple days). I would say it's probably not too late, but again can't be sure.

LOL. He will look silly! And he may paw the tape off. Is he a Pembroke or a Cardigan? Pembrokes are easy to tape; just get a medium width masking tape (NOT duct tape) and make two passes around the base of each ear, being careful not to have any folds in the ear or fur pressed the wrong way.

The Cardi taping is more elaborate and I'm not familiar with how to do it (bigger ears).

I got Hannah when she was four months, and one of her ears was still not up. I didn't tape, and it eventually came up on its own about a month and a half later. I kind of miss that floppy ear!

Have you considered obedience training? That will help with the barking a lot. Meanwhile, when he barks I would give a leash correction (tug) and a firm no. Also having a very small treat to change his focus will help.

We got Jet when he was 4 months old and about 2 weeks ago both ear finally stood up permanently. He is now almost 8 months old, so it did take some extra time. I would just wait and see. Now that they are both up we miss the floppy eared puppy, especially when he only had 1 ear up.

Jet also still barks at other dogs and people when they knock on our door. We are working with him and hoping that it will get better as we have him out more and more. He has improved some since we have been going to the dog parks and walking more around the block.
