I never have to trim Shiro's front paw nails. Well, maybe one on each paw. There's something about the way he walks, they get filed at an angle. They look kinda sharp, but they are grounded almost to the quick. I can see the pink, but it doesn't seem to bother him and never bleeds. Back paws are totally different, like they don't get filed at all.
I wonder if it's normal or would he have joint problems later in life?

Vivi had really long nails when we got him (you can see them in his earlier pictures) and we just recently clipped them (he was sooo good by the way ^_^). We're still new to clipping dog nails so we didn't go too close to the quick, but now as he's gone on several walks on pavement, they got filed down nicely closer to the quick. I don't think it causes any problems. Just make sure the wear is normal, not on the tops of the nails. If it's on the top, it could indicate a joint problem since the dog is dragging their feet.
I've never trimmed Lokis nails, but they are always filed, to various degrees, some look down into the quick or very short from time to time. Inner nails get more ground than outer nails. Back and front paws both. I have never had to clip his nails, and he has never bled or felt perturbed. Looking at the way a corgis legs are it does not surprise me the wear is uneven.
Po's are more worn at the front than at the back. Our vet has never voiced a concern with this, and we never trim his nails.
I wouldn't worry about uneven nails. Ella's front middle nails are always more "sidewalk filed" than any of her other nails. The back nails always seem to need more trimming. It almost seems like the way that their back feet are so long and skinny, that she walks on her back pads not the nail part. And of course corgis almost hop like bunnies, so I just don't think those back nails get enough sidewalk time to wear down. Just keep the non-filed nails trimmed and if you see a rough bit you can just use a human nail file.
Which reminds me, the sleepy corgi next to me needs hers done this week. Thanks for the reminder.
Yes, it's the same with Shiro. Except that 2 of his nails in each paw are filed at an angle, almost like he scoops when he walks. I wouldn't be surprised if he did, he's such a clumsy little clown.
Jack's wear down almost to the quick from walking, with only one wearing at a funny angle (and his toe looks a tad crooked, so that's probably why). He never seems footsore.

Maddie is very light on her feet and hers don't seem to wear at all and they grow fast, so I Dremmel them. They have exactly the same walks, so it must be a difference in gait.
