We just recorded our warmest summer temperature here today. In fact, last summer was very mild and  15 mth old Ellie has probably lived through her hottest day ever here today!

I am home on summer holidays so I was able to put some things in place to make sure she felt cool..but would she drink any water? No.

I made her a doggy iceblock to lick ( frozen water with a small bit of chicken in the middle for flavour) as I thought this would help. do other people notice their corgis drinking less in the heat?

She didnt physically exert herself too much today and I didnt take her for a walk.

I have to always put a bit(1/4cup) of warm water in sage's food as she does not drink enough but like it in her food. just maybe worth a try?

Seems like they know when to drink I just can not get Dino to drink any more than he does. I even put up a sign in the kitchen to remind him but it does not work

Did you teach him to read 1st?

You also could try floating a few small ice cubes in her water bowl. My dogs also have a water preferance....they like thr outside faucet water better...

aaaah  In his bowl. But I have two others that may not like the ice cubes. Moose the Cocker Spaniel would just bark at the ice. Dino can read all right. He can read the packages that I bring home from Kroger.

Adding water to her food is the most sure-fire way, perhaps.  I had a cat that would drink all the water out of a decorative fountain because it was moving, so maybe if you have a fountain, you can clean it and put it on the floor to entice her to drink more.

There are a lot of good ideas on here than I could have thought of.  I am going to try all of them

LOL! I thought you must be from Southern California also. We have had 80 degree weather after a mild summer, too. I don't watch what my dogs drink, they have water everywhere, and I figure they will drink what they need.

These are some great ideas.. Thanks heaps everyone!

Kota doesn't like to drink a lot of water especially on trips or when it's hot out... I give him ice cubes to munch on and he eats them like no other. he loves ice cubes. I give them to him all the time.
