ADVICE!! -- (I posted this on the FB group as well). My two year old nephew is staying over with my father (I'm living back in my hometown during my husband's deployment) and managed to lure Chewie into the kitchen where he sprayed him with bleach! As soon as I smelt him and figured out that it was on his neck/face, I rushed him to the bathtub and rinshed him off and washed him a good three times. I rinsed his eyes out as much as he let me as well. I'm just curious if there's anything else that I should do. He's acting normal, doesn't seem like his skin or eyes or anything are irritated. He's just playing with his toys and giving me dirty looks for giving him another bath...

I would make sure that you bathe Chewie with shampoo real well and also rinse even better.  Just when you think you have rinsed enough keep rinsing.   Maybe give another bath again tommorrow.  Keep an eye on the areas that got sprayed over the next couple days. Hopefully the bath will take care of it.  Do you think it was alot that was sprayed on?

If you wanted peace of mind, maybe you could call an emergency pet clinic and see if they could give you advice over the phone, to make sure you shouldn't be doing something that we haven't thought of. Hope this advice helps as this is all I could think of.

Thanks so much for the reply.  I will have to bathe him again tomorrow.  It wasn't much because he didn't feel wet to the touch, but I could smell the bleach on him.

Don't want to state the obvious here but make sure the bleach is put safely away so this won't happen again to Chewie, and so your nephew doesn't get bleach on himself. Chemicals and toddlers do not mix. Hope Chewie is ok, a few baths sounds like it should work.
I know this.  Apparently my dad's girlfriend needs to toddler proof their house if they'er going to have kids over.
Watch for any breathing problems. Get him plenty of fresh air. Good luck!
Thanks so much.  I'm keeping the windows open and the fan circulating.  I'll more than likely have him sleep with me tonight.
How's he doing?????
He's up-and-at-'em as usual.  I'm secluding him in our bedroom for remainder of my nephew's stay so he's quite antsy.  Just begging for me to play with him as I type this :)  Thanks for checking in and for all of the advice.  I don't think it was bad at all since he wasn't wet to the touch, but I just went in mommy freak-out overload.
I would too....could have been very dangerous for both of them!
Glad Chewie is doing well!  Hopefully the girlfriend has learned about kidproofing and the little boy learned not to spray stuff on pets (or himself, for that matter...kids will get into anything).  Poor Chewie...two baths!
