How many of them dream?

Interested in finding out if our babies dream or not. I know they do "paddle" in their sleep but so do I. Is that paddling an indication of dreaming or something else. Maybe it is just the muscle relaxing. I would like to see inside the "bubble" of their dreams if thats what they do.

Ginger does the dog paddle, but our non-corgi dog definately dreams. She gets her legs going, and then she starts barking under her breath. It's hilarious!

Both Franklin and my cat definitely dream. Frank will get going running in his sleep and growling and barking. Its pretty funny. My cat will also dream and she will start growling in her sleep.

Noodles definitely dreams. His little legs will start going, but then his ears start twitching and you see the corners of his mouth to start to curl. He sometimes gives soft barks in his sleep. He also doesn't always sleep with his eyes closed, so you can see just a little bit of his eyes moving (this goes along with his legs moving and his ears). He has actually woken me up before because he was "running" on my legs and giving soft barks. It must have been a pretty good dream! I just rub his belly and smile. He is too precious whether he is asleep or awake!

Alison--I just have to tell you, Noodles is the best name for a Corgi. Between your Noodles and Waffle I crack up every time I see them. Very good idea and keep taking good care of that good looking baby

Thank you Steve, but I have to give credit to my husband. He is the one that wanted to name a corgi Noodles and when we went to look at Noodles (at that time, his name was Percy), he definitely looked more like a Noodles than a Wilson (that is the name I wanted for a corgi). The name definitely fits him. Little kids love the fact he is named after food.

Try giving your dog a "cheese dream": have a small piece of cheddar cheese ( or other cheese with a definite smell, but not too strong of a scent) and wait until your dog falls asleep. You need to already be near the dog, as dogs are light sleepers. When the dog is sound asleep, slowly place the small piece of cheese an inch or so in front of its nose. In a short while, the smell will enter the dog's awareness and, if you did it right, paws will start going etc. The dog eventually wakes up and eats the cheese. Great fun for both! The hard part is not to wake up the dog while you place the cheese. Enjoy.
