Hi, I am at my wits end, I just do not understant why my corgi, Ginger attacks my older cairn terrier, goes right for her neck. It seems like ginger just snaps. We had Ginger first for 3 yrs, so she was 5 yrs old when we got Maggie who was 10 yrs.. both females.. I figured it had alot to do with alpha dog matters.. cause it happened alot during that first year after Maggie joined us.. when it happened I would grab Ginger off Maggie and put her in her travel cage for a while.. Maggie had taken on the "mother" role and stay by her and when Ginger was let out things would be fine.. until something seemed to set her off.. We did figure out that Ginger does get crazy when we are watching a sports game and we clapp or hoot and hollar at the TV.. she goes right after Maggie.. then after acouple of years together things seemed to calm down.. no attacks... but then my son Jason had to move back home and he brought with him his almost 1 yr old boxer/pit bull mix.. of course another female.. she is so much bigger and taller than Ginger... but so sweet and just wants to play all the time ..Maggie and Ginger may snap at her.. but she, Lexie would just lick them and still want to play.. well now it seems that Ginger has taken to attacking Maggie again... Lexie is around but I do not see a direct cause of Ginger's "snapping" it may be over a toy or jealousy if Ginger is not getting enough attention.. but poor Maggie just seems to be in the worng place at the wrong time... I have resorted to trying a remote control like shock collar that my son had used to train his Lexie. well I tried it on Ginger... but just never was able to use it when the attack happens.. have to have the remote pointed at her when it happens.. I thought that is the only way to teach her using that idea... SO, my question is... Is there any other corgi owners having any similar problems???? I would appreciate any advice!!
(sorrry this is so long!) PLS HELP!
