While out of town I left Dipper with neighbors.  He's very popular, and has stayed at three different houses on my block.   Anyhow Robin's dog died earlier this year and she had expressed an interest in having Dipper from time to time.

Robin Rosenthal is a painter and while my son and I were away, she painted Dipper!  Surely this a breakthrough work of art.  Such a lucky dog to get to sit for his own portrait!  I feel as though he's a celebrity!  Dipper is a PWC and only fifteen months old.

Here's a link to her work: http://www.robinrosenthalspaintings.com/

Still I wonder if this portrait doesn't make him look a bit too dignified.  He's very silly if you get to know him.

This is so adorable!  I went to her web site, her paintings are really great!!

How marvelous. This deserves a heavy wooden frame and a place of honor above a stately couch! Makes me want one of my own!

You have a permanent legacy on canvas forever!!! Dipper is famous!. Congratulations.

How wonderful to have such a painting!  They can look dignified...for about 5 seconds.

Wonderful!

Turns out it's about 8 x 5 inches, it's cute but it's not going to be an imposing addition to a room.

Hard to paint a furry fuzzy.  Even harder to cast in bronze, like the statue of the UW Husky (which is really a malamute):  how convey soft & fuzzy with hard & shiny?
