I am wondering what kind of treats everybody using to train their dogs.

I haven't used any human food as treat yet, (cheerios, hot dog, string cheese etc.) 'cause I am not sure which one is safe for the dog. Any suggestion on human food safe for dogs will also be appreicated!!

From my short training dog experience, I could tell my 7 months old DouBao likes (From the most to the least)

1) Dry Liver

2) Dry Cheese

3) Zukes Mini Bites (Chicken, salmon, rabbie)

4) Charlier Bear (Cheese & Egg)

5) Wellness Wellbites

Thanks!

Any suggestions will be helpful, since I would like to add some varieties into the treat, so she won't get bored with one.

No fatty greasy human food, its the #1 cause of pancreatitis.
Avoid any food that contain these ingredients. http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/poison-control/people-foods.aspx

Apples, carrots, and peanut butter.

For Emergency Recall training, we use bacon.  We don't eat much bacon, but when we do, we fry some crisp and use  for Emergency Recall treats.  Their Emergency Recall command is "venite'" (Latin/Italisn for "come").  They think it means "bacon!  come and get it!"  It is the only time they taste bacon.

I am going to use bacon to practice emergency recall too!

How do you start to teach the emergency recall? Say the word and reward with a little fry bacon right away?

I will just use "Bacon" as emergency recall cue, hahaha!!!
A little peanut butter in a small tupperware container goes a long way. Let them have a few licks, put the lid back on.

Freeze-dried fish and the above-mentioned pb are the highest value rewards I could find for agility, in terms of things I'm comfortable using regularly.

I use hot dogs for emergency recall training, but don't like to feed regularly because of the fat and preservatives.
Peanut butter in a small tupperware container is a great idea! I don't need to carry tons of treat during agility training or on the street.

I cannot find freeze-dried fish around, maybe because I am in Canada...but will keep my eyes on...
BTW, is the peanut butt you use the regular one from the human grocery store, or those from pet store. I know Kong has peanut butter for dogs (unreasonable expensive).

I just use Jiff but have used powdered and organic may be better but...I use what I have...

Sorry I missed this!  I use regular human PB.  We get Smart Balance.

For fish treats, I use these

or

Just watch out for quality control.  There is a holistic pet food place near us where I get them, but I have ordered treats online too.

I will have to try the PB in tupperware. My dogs already love PB, so that would just be the best thing ever. When I use hot dogs for special agility treats, I try to get some really nice turkey dogs.

The nice thing is he remembers there was some left in the tub so he works extra hard.  Taking it away from him and putting the lid on seems to make him pay attention better.

Bento loves chicken.  We would either boil, steam, or roast a chicken breast and then shred it for him.  He's also very fond of steamed chicken liver.  We mix Zukes chicken and peanut butter treats along with the chicken breast and liver, so he doesn't get "bored" with the same treat during a training session.  It works well, and Bento loves them all.
