I feed my dog raw meat!  So, it's about 200 degrees and 15 minutes away from being people food, haha.  He also gets whatever I'm eating at the time.  I have no willpower when it comes to giving my dog snacks from my plate. :[

There is a dog trainer at my local Petco who feeds his dog raw food only.  I thought that was an interesting idea and that inspired this discussion.  Thank you for reading/replying!

It's not exactly food, but my corgi LOVES LOVES LOVES little ice cubes. It's like she thinks they're candy or something. Other than that it's pretty much just Purina Pro Puppy food and training treats.

 

I had to feed our dachshund a bland diet of white rice and chicken once after he got into some dark chocolate, but that was a lot of work. Would't do that on a regular basis. Our dachshund also gets carrots as treats. They're his favorite. Our corgi has no interest in carrots.

Bingley loves ice cubes too.  He runs in the kitchen when he hears ice being dropped in a glass :)   Thank you for replying!   ~Amy

Butters is OBSESSED with ice cubes.  Give her one and she will play with it till it melts away.  She loves to put it in her mouth and then toss it in the air.  Then quickly run after and repeat until the melting ensues.  Lol. Talk about a low fat treat! ;)

Noodles gets a mix of his dry food and green beans for dinner. He prefers frozen green beans zapped in the microwave over unsalted, canned green beans. I've tried peas, but he isn't thrilled with those. He likes baby carrots, but they upset his tummy so he doesn't get them that often. Other than that, he gets the tail end of whatever we are eating, but not everything. His favorite people food would be either french fries or popcorn. It is a toss up. Since I heard scrambeled eggs were okay for them, he gets one egg as a treat on Saturday morning and he loves it! He thinks he is eating the exact same breakfast as mom and dad, so he is one happy camper.

We were feeding Frosty 3 cups Pedigree and occasional people scraps, but we've decided that he just makes too good of a trash compactor lol.  Currently we feed 2 cups Pedigree per day plus people leftovers of lean meat, vegetables or rice.  We never give him stuff that is salty, fatty, buttery or starchy (except that he is always stealing ucky potato peels when I peel potatos).  It seems to be working out well as he has not gained or lost any weight since we made the switch.  I wouldn't recommend this diet, that's for sure, but we just love feeding him people food and he loves it to, so you know lol.  For snacks he really loves baby carrots.

Oh ya, guess I forgot to mention that we NEVER feed Frosty from the table.  All his people food goes into his dog bowl with the dog food.  Except for the baby carrots we use as treats of course lol!  My husband tries to slip him stuff from the table now and then, but the resulting death-eye he receives from me is usually enough to stop that for a couple days.  Frosty is super awesome at not begging while we are eating.  He just sleeps under the table on top of our feet.

I feel weird... I only feed Caius dog food. I guess the great thing is that he never begs, and leaves us alone for lunch/dinner time. :p

MIne get dog food and only people food as an occasional treat. I do add green beans, yogurt,sweet potatoes on their food occasionally but never give them treats at the table...only when we are done and in the kitchen.Cheese is a great training treat!

We eat a lot of natural, unprocessed foods at home, so I admit I supplement Sidney's food with some of what we eat on most nights, as long as there is not anything dangerous to dogs in it (onions, raisins, etc). He mostly shares our veggies and bits of chicken or turkey, etc.
