I apologize up front for the somewhat graphic nature of this post.  Ginger has normal poohs, until we take her for a walk.  She will go 3 or 4 times within the first 20 minutes and each time they get runnier and runnier until it's almost all liquid.  I don't get it and was just wondering if anyone else had this problem.  Other than on long walks she's fine.

You are not alone. I don't have any advice, but Scout is the same way.  The trails we walk (for our longer walks / hikes) have creeks along the way that she drinks out of as we walk, but that is the only difference between our longer walks and our "business" walks in the field behind my apartment. I don't know if drinking creek water would make it runnier in that short of time span, but that is my only guess...

How old is she? Could she be stressing out about the walk?
She's almost 9 months old and we've had this problem since we got her at 10 weeks.  She loves going on walks so I'm not sure it's stress.
I haven't posted Rosco's picture yet - I'm new to this website, but he does this, too! I was wondering if any other Corgi's did this. I will take him outside to our back yard & he will poop. Then when we go for our walk, he will do it at least 2 more times. Once he did it 3 times & I wasn't prepared with enough bags to pick it all up. We have a Homeowners Association & you have to pick up after your dogs when they do this. The last time it was runny also & he just did it while walking. I was so aggravated with him. What we do about this? It's good to have someone to discuss this with.
Ginger will start doing it while walking as well. :(
We had this problem with Jack. A switch to lamb and rice dog food fixed the problem. He still goes two or three times, but it's no longer runny.
Ella will do this too, so I'd love to here what people say.  So of it with her is that she likes to mark stuff (even though she is fixed female).  She will sniff and try to pee on everything, then she will try to poop on light posts and stuff.  So weird, and by like the 2nd poop it's all runny.
Scout, who is also a fixed female, decided one day she would leave her (more visible) mark by the boy scouts flag at a park we go to... She also lifts her leg to mark stuff. Guess it is just the corgi in them trying to control whatever they can.
Is she very, very, very excitied when you start your walk?
this is very common.i talked to my vet about this a few weeks ago as teddy does the same thing. he said if your dog is really excited it will cause it along with just the walk it self. walking gets the bowels moving and if your going a long walk they will go and go until they cant anymore. so it is normal
Let me expand on what I said. :)

Yes, dogs poop more and more loosely when they get excited.

Yes, exercise can loosen the bowels in many dogs.

Yes, dogs will defecate to mark territory.

Liquid stools are no more "normal" for a dog than they are for a person, and cleaning stinky bunny butts after walks is no fun. Like people, different dogs respond to different foods in different ways.

When Jack was a pup, we had him on traditional chicken-based dog food, and corn was the primary grain. Now I know some here hate corn and I respect that, but I've done some research myself and personally have no problems with it. Still, either the chicken or the corn seemed to not agree with Jack. When he was about 18 months he started having the problem you describe.

Poops on short potty breaks were always firm and normal. However, on long walks he likes to poop three times or so. This is a habit; it's clear he does not empty his bowel completely when he poops the first or second time. He seems to do it to mark. Problem was, each poop got looser and looser and by the end we'd be hosing him off after every long walk. The more stimulating the walk, the worse it was. So a long walk near home meant slightly messy bottom, a long walk somewhere with a stream meant a total disaster.

After trying treat-elimination, we turned to the food. We picked lamb and rice to switch both the grain and protein in one go and save us some time. About halfway through the switch it was clear it was helping, and now we never have the problem. He still goes three times, and each poops is slightly squidgier than the last, but now all are fully formed and solid enough to not leave a mess on his backside.

I highly recommend changing something up for dogs who have this problem and see if it helps. It's hard to enjoy long walks or trips to a dog park with a dog who needs a bath the second they walk in the door every single time.

i do see what you are saying:). i didnt mean to say it is absolutely nothing to worry about but my vet said its just common for this to happen to dogs. full on liquid poop isnt good at all and i know that but for it to be a little runny is normal. thats what i meant. teddy sometimes gets runny poop if hes running around alot. not liquid but just softer.

i have fostered 6dogs and everytime i took them out for a walk they would have hard poop and then it would be soft the more we walked. although i did have to switch my one foster, scout, to a new food because of this reason
