Tip:  Add equal amounts of water to your Corgi's dry food.

With two Corgi's the dog hair that they shed was unmanageable in our home.  The owner of Happy Hound in Leesburg, VA, suggested we try adding water to their kibble and within two weeks we noticed far less dog hair everywhere.  Two months into this experiment, it's still working.  We'll see what happens in the spring, but for now we have relief from most of the dog hair, which we hadn't experienced during previous winters.

FYI - we no longer measure the water and we probably add more than equal amounts.  It's good to know Tank and Ace are taking in more water.

That's an interesting experiment. Even if it doesn't work to prevent Dog Dunes under the furniture, one thing we do know is that adding water to the dog's food goes a long way to prevent and help treat urinary tract infections.

I started giving my dogs water on their food a few years ago as several of mine didn't seem to drink enough...can't say it has/has not helped with the shedding but they do get plenty of water now.

I've been adding water to my dogs' kibble for years.  I've also made salmon oil and a spoonful of pumpkin part of their meals. The water definitely helps to keep them hydrated, and good hydration definitely contributes to healthy skin and coat, along with the salmon oil. The water and pumpkin also help to add a little bulk to the food, to help them feel more full (satisfied tummies). And the pumpkin alone also helps keep them regular. =)

Thanks for the tip on the pumpkin and salmon oil.
