Scratched Eye

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know how long it usually takes for a scratched eye to heal? I accidentally scratched his left eye a few weeks ago. The vet gave us some eye medication and some ointments which healed the eye after a week and a half. I came home a few weeks ago and somehow he scratched his right eye, so the vet told us to use the same treatment with the medication and ointment. This time the scratch was larger than the other, so I expected it to take longer to heal. It's been 3 weeks now and im not really sure if its gotten any better. He still squints a lot, I can still see where it was scratched, and its starting to look kinda cloudy. I feel bad having to keep his cone of shame on him for this long. Anyone have any experience with this?

A return visit to the vet might be in order. I don't like the sound of "kinda cloudy".

I would take him in. Jack got a bad scratch from the cat and it was healed within about 10 days. They told me at the ER to take him to his regular vet for follow-up.
