So I'm sure there's probably a thread on this topic somewhere, but I can't find it. Beauregard went to the vet a few days ago with diarrhea and vomiting and we were told he has gastroenteritis, and since then we've been feeding him chicken and rice with a bit of yogurt and giving him his medication afterwards, and after giving it a few days we added his Wellness super5mix puppy food to it and he's back to diarrhea... He has another vet appointment in a week and I'm concerned about his weight being on chicken and rice for two weeks, he's 9 weeks old and 5 pounds or so, and I'm also wondering whether the wellness is a bad fit? He was itching on the breeder's Eukanuba, and since being on chicken and rice (and wellness) the itching is almost gone, how do I determine whether he has a food allergy? I know, it's a lot of questions but I've never had a dog with a sensitive stomach... Thanks in advance for all the input.

Did you gradually switch off of the Eukanuba? Over a couple weeks? This could be causing the problem also if you didn't.  If he has the diarrhea again I would keep him on the chicken, rice and yogurt if that is working or call the vet but he's better with that and no diarrhea than the dog food and diarrhea. Good luck!
His stool was loose when we brought him home, and a couple days after we started putting the wellness in, just ten kibbles or so and that's when the problems started...
Our corgis were blessed with sensitive bellies too! The chicken and rice will relax his belly and I wouldnt worry about it at all for now!. He probably thinks he is in heaven :) You can also try pumpkin as well (pure, not spiced for pies) Gradually introduce his food again once you know you have a handle on the loose stool. He will get there! :)
Wellness is probably too rich for him to handle, Real chicken and Rice is actually quite good for now, when you reintroduce kibble or switch over to a new brand, you need to do it gradually like Jane said. Itching can be caused by many things besides food, frequent bathing, stress, humidity, rag weed / pollen, dust... all play a role, other things to look for are pesticides in your lawn, carpet cleaner / shampoo, spot on flea products...etc.
I would try buying a small bag of a different brand of kibble and see if he has the same reaction when you try to add a bit to the chicken and rice. As Sam said the Wellness may just be too rich for his tummy; my pem had some soft poos and awful gas when he was on it.
