I know chicken bones are bad for dogs, but what about goat, rabbit, lamb, and antlers? Being half cuban/ half cajun, we eat this type of food in abundance and would think that the occasional bone would be a good treat.

You'll see lots of articles here about using antlers as a good chew toy! As for bones (I'm no expert) but I think the raw ones are good but not cooked. Please wait for others to comment though to make sure and as to which ones.
Like Jane said, we know antlers make great chew toys. I would think rabbit bones would be too small. Do any of our other members have any experience with giving lamb or goat bones to dogs?
Rabbit would definitely be too small and soft.
Raw bones are generally fine but cooked bones are another thing entirely.

Most of the bones in lamb available that we get for cooking are too small and will be able to splinter off after cooking. I've no experience with goat. Rabbit once again is okay raw but not cooked. They are more brittle then chicken bones.
Antlers are great chews. :)
We had a discussion on bones not that long ago. You can read what people said here: http://mycorgi.ning.com/forum/topics/feeding-raw-bonesfood?page=1&a.... I used John Wolff's suggestion and got the beef marrow bones cut into about 4-6 inch sections and boiled them before I gave them to the dogs. They have been a big hit at my house.
If feeding your dog bones make sure they are fair sized, and uncooked. Cooked bones can splinter and much of the nutrients are destroyed, kind of defeats the purpose then. If you are concerned about bacteria (needlessly) you can pour a bit of boiling water over them (a rinse) but never cook them.
our two favorite things to do is we go to a certain restaurant once a month and they either have bone in prime ribs or lamb shanks available. Which we take the bones home to the pups. Its a one night thing and they can't take the bones out of our site. Whatever they don't finish by the time we go to bed gets tossed.
