Well I guess I'm glad that I have range fed chickens and drive a Prius...my dogs would love to eat rabbit for everymeal (wild) but then I have to deal with worms and those chemicals. My cats go outside to go potty 9 months of the year so I am trying to be green! If we all try a little harder to do what we can in other areas than I think that we can justify having dogs! I use no chemical cleaners that are harsh on the environment either and there are so many ways that we can do sooooo much better such as using glass not plastic and reusing instead of just throwing!!! We can also buy local and support many other areas of the green movement! We can also shop thrift stores for blankets/ stainless steel bowls and other animal items! I guess you can call me a tree hugger but it grows as my Secret Santa is giving me environmentally green gifts this year!!!! All right!
Everything, everything we do impacts the world. Smaller dogs have smaller impacts (presumably why the poor Welsh farmers bred smaller dogs).
Cats are a significant source of small bird mortality.
Frozen raw meat? My dogs are living about as high on the energy pyramid as one can get. In more-normal, less-pampered, real-world situations, a family dog would be living more off table scraps and offal. Come to think, my dogs would be perfectly happy grazing out of the compost bucket...
