I've recently adopted a corgi mix named Ace - he's an Auggie (mini-aussie x corgi). One of his ears is up, the other is flopped over. He's eight months old... and is roughly 10inches tall and 15inches long.

My question to you all is : when did your corgi stop growing? When did your corgis ears become fully perked?

I just would like to know so I have an idea about whether or not his ear is ever going to fully perk, and whether or not he's going to grow taller!

:) Thank you!

Hi Sierra,

Corgis usually fill out around 2 years old. The Ear answer and solution is in the FAQ.

Since Ace is an Auggie, there is no telling how tall he will be :)

Welcome Sierra,

By about 18 months he should be close to his height and length but will then fill out closer to 2.. Can't wait to see him grow!

Congratulations on your new puppy - any pictures? :)

At that age he may have most of his adult height and length already, but he will definitely fill out more as he gets older. I think most corgis aren't totally grown until the age of 2 or so. As far as his ear, I doubt it will perk up at 8 months old. Usually if they're not up by 4-5 months old or so they require taping to get them to stand.

Here's a pic of little Ace out in his home right now. She told me his ears perk up sometimes... Should I add some calcium to his diet and tape them?

Beautiful!
Usually the ears go up at a few months old definetly would have both perked if they were going to. Molly stoped growing not that long ago. I think height wise for her was at a year and a half.
Oh what a cutie!!!!
I personally would just leave his ears be, at 8 months it's unlikely that they will stand even with taping. Since he's half aussie he may just naturally have a floppy ear.

Here's another of Ace.

I'm trying to figure out if he is going to wind up growing any taller, or if his ear should be trained to stand. Like I said, it perks when he's excited...but then flops back down.

This pic is him with his mother and sister. He's the one with the different colored eyes.

:) Thank you for your comments, btw.

I am assuming that yes, he will get some taller but won't guess how much...I see his legs are as long as his moms in that pic:)
Adorable! Enjoy him and tell yourself he's perfect just the way he is, we're not all born to look a certain way...
It's really hard to say exactly, especially without knowing the size of his sire. I think the normal size for mini-aussies is between 14-18"H, but I've seen them much, much smaller than that.
