Hi, our Chalie fell in love with stray kitten who wondered in our yard the week we got him. This was the first photo of the morning after they met...

We have adoped Ginger now and she sleeps with Charlie at night in their kennel.

Fizgig the Maine coon mix and Frodo the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, sitting together in Fizzie's Kittywalk enclosure (she's an indoor-only cat normally).

I have 5 cats, and Frodo the CWC. I certainly can't say that all the cats are best friends with the corgi. Heck, they aren't even best friends with each other! However, my youngest cat, a maine coon mix who is also a registered therapy pet, will let Frodo drag him around and definitely plays with him; and Muppet, my tortie and also a therapy pet, will even play with him. The other three go between finding him interesting and hating his guts. Still, 2, or 2 1/2, out of 5 is a pretty good ratio, right? ;) They were all adults when we brought him in except for the youngest, who was 10 months, and they'd never known dogs except for the therapy pets, who saw them on visits.... so not too bad!

I would not say my corgi is "best friends" with either of our cats, but he and our orange tabby, Milo, seem to have worked out an understanding and they do play together. Joshua LOVES to chase Milo, and sometimes when Milo runs away and Joshua doesn't follow, Milo comes back to look for him. :) I have yet to see them get cozy together, but Milo (who was initially very scared of Joshua when we adopted him almost 4 months ago) does now sleep on our bed pretty close to Joshua.

Ginger, our other cat, has become pretty dog-savvy, but she doesn't exactly like Joshua. Our challenge is trying to teach Joshua that while Milo likes to be chased around the house, Ginger does not. She's learned how to avoid him for the most part and, when necessary, will bop him on the nose with a paw as a warning (which is ineffective because Joshua thinks it's a game). Occasionally Joshua approaches Ginger while she's sleeping and licks her head/ears! It's very cute and she allows it, usually. I try not to let it go on for more than a few seconds so he doesn't get too aggressive and scare her away.

Our first corgi, Susie, was totally calm and mellow (complete opposite of Joshua) and I always wished that she and Ginger would have warmed up to each other because they were so much alike in that way. I wanted so much to come home one day and find them snuggled up together sleeping...but no such luck. Susie pretty much ignored the cats completely unless they got too close to her food.

How adorable to see them snuggled up like that. Ein and Spooky have been caught sleeping nose to nose and in 'otter position' (flat on their backs, front legs bent and back legs stretched out, like an otter floating on the water sunning himself) right next to each other, but as soon as someone (Spooky, usually) realizes there are people looking, he resumes his ima cat, theres now way you'd catch me dead snuggling with THE dog' positions
