FOR ANYONE NEAR THE SAN LUIS OBISPO ARE, I'VE FOUND A GOOD HERDING TRAINER. WE HAVE STARTED LESSONS ON SHEEP. I LIKE THIS TRAINER BECAUSE SHE IS QUIET AND PATIENT. THE DOGS AREN'T AFRAID OF HER. SHE GIVES YOU ALOT OF INFORMATION, BUT DOESN'T MIND GOING OVER IT AGAIN AND AGAIN IF YOU OR YOUR DOG NEED IT. I CAN PASS HER INFO ALONG IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED.

I took my dogs to have a herding test, they all did very well. We will be having another one in March, I can't wait to see what they will do next.

HI, WE ARE NEW TO THIS GROUP. DONNIE IS 7 MONTHS OLD. WE TOOK HIM LAST NIGHT TO HIS FIRST HERDING LESSON. HE LOVED IT. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME HE HAD SEEN SHEEP. HE'S USED TO CATTLE. IT WAS A BLAST. I WISH I WOULD HAVE TAKEN PICTURES OF HIM CHASING THE EWE'S WITH HIS EARS FLOPPING AROUND EVERYWHERE. IT WAS PRICELESS. WE GO BACK NEXT FRIDAY,,,WE CAN'T WAIT.

It's kind of disappointing, isn't it? It's so hard to find a herding trainer anywhere. Good luck in your search. I'm going to try to find something for everyone looking.

I would love to get Bear into herding but even though we live near the country I am having a hard time finding a herding facility that offers classes. If anyone knows of any near Gilroy I would appreciate the information. Thx!

That's great. Casey definitely isn't too young. You can start any time. Let us know when you find a trainer. Some of us have had a hard time at that.

I'm interested in becoming involved in herding with my PWC, Casey in the next year. Casey is 14 months old, he may be a little young I am not sure. His father was involved in herding very successfully so I thought we might try it out.
