Luigi starts his first puppy class Wednesday. I'm so excited to see how he does. He already met the trainer and he loves him. He got so happy that I am afraid that Luigi will be distracted because he will want to play with the trainer and other dogs.

@Alison and Odin:  I got mine an adjustable, size small. He's 11 weeks now, and it still fits him. It should last him a while longer, too!

Sarah & Dixie -- we had the same problem. Our trainer told us to keep her leash on her and just hold it loose & walk around the house. When she went to nip or hold our pants, we immediately held her about 18 inches away from us (our arm straight out and the leash taut & perpendicular to the floor), and did not let her sniff the ground or put her head down (which according to our trainer is just awful punishment for corgis -- they really want to sniff). We kept her like that for about 15-20 seconds. If she did it again, so did we. It's humane -- no jerking, hitting, etc, and it took about three days to get her to stop grabbing and tearing at our pants. The trick (like with all training) is your immediate response & consistency. GOOD LUCK!

K so Destro's no longer a puppy; he's almost 2. BUT he will not stop barking at other dogs when we're on walks and we need help! I've tried Caesar Millan's tactics as well as a squirt bottle. What to do besides collars?

Help!! My 3 month old chases us and bites at our pant legs. Today she ripped a pair of my dads $100 pants. Needless to say he is not pleased. Any suggestions?

Anthony and Debra Pepe asked to post and request that you repost to any 'doggy' lists with members who may live in the area.

Their beloved 3 year old red and white Pembroke Welsh Corgi bitch (in show condition) escaped from being temporarily boarded in the Elkton, MD area early this week, and despite great efforts by everyone, has not yet been located.
She is microchipped and friendly, although undoubtedly frightened (they've had severe thunderstorms in the area which haven't helped with that, or with tracking efforts).
Please remember this little dog and the Pepes in your prayers, and reach out to any other lists in case there are any dog lovers in that geographic area MD/PA/DE) who may still be unaware. Anthony has to return to work in NJ this next week for a few days but will be back in the MD area soon--his cell phone # is 732-713-1709 and you can leave a message with any info or sightings.

We joined our first puppy training class last night, and it's actually called Puppy Elementary, so yep, time to join this group!

Hi! Murphy has been doing really great with not having accidents in the house, he hasn't had one in awhile, but lately we have been having some issues with him going in his crate. Everyone says that dogs don't like to mess where they sleep. I don't understand why he keeps doing it though. I talked to our vet about it and she seems to think it may be separation anxiety, but if that is what it is, how can I get him to stop? Or is this something that we can just expect and hope that he grows out of it?
